CEC Gyanesh Kumar to launch Electoral Literacy Club 2.0 in Patna today

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar will today launch the Electoral Literacy Club, ELC 2.0, in Patna. This initiative is being seen as an important step towards giving a fresh impetus to electoral literacy, digital engagement and meaningful participation of citizens in democracy.

Keeping in view the growing digital connect of the youth, ELC 2.0 is being launched. The Election Commission had started the Electoral Literacy Clubs in the year 2018 with the aim of familiarising young citizens with the electoral process. Under ELC 2.0, the target has been set to form ELCs in 15 lakh schools, 70 thousand colleges and 1,420 universities across the country over the next six months. All these ELCs will also be linked to the Election Commission of India’s network – ECI Net.

In another programme, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar will interact with around 500 Booth Level Officers at Nalanda University in Rajgir.
