Chief Election Commissioner and Chairman of the Council of Member States of International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) Gyanesh Kumar today met Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to India, Azamat Yeskarayev, in New Delhi.

 

In a social media post, the Election Commission said that both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening democratic cooperation, in keeping with the vision articulated at IICDEM 2026. The two sides further agreed to work closely together to deepen collaboration in election management and in the training of election staff.

 

International IDEA is a major intergovernmental organisation dedicated to strengthening democracy worldwide. India assumed the Chairship of the Council of Member States of International IDEA in  December last year, with the Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, representing the country.
