The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has successfully secured attachment of 23 properties of the accused in Loni Urban Multi State Credit and Thrift Co-operative Society Chit Fund Case. The CBI said that these properties are located at Uttrakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Mumbai. During investigation, the CBI identified several properties which were acquired by the accused in connection with this chit fund fraud case. The agency said that properties worth 25 crore rupees have been attached so far. The case has been registered under various offences of IPC, BNS, Banning of Unregulated Deposit Schemes Act and Uttar Pradesh Industrial Disputes Act. It noted that the accused allegedly have induced more than 1.6 Lakh depositors and misappropriated funds to the tune of over four hundred crore rupees in the case. The CBI has arrested seven main accused involved in the case.
