CBI court in Mohali convicts Samir Dua in ₹4 crore bank fraud case

In Punjab, a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Mohali has convicted and sentenced Samir Dua in a multi-crore bank fraud case. The court awarded him three years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of 15 thousand rupees.

According to official sources, the CBI had registered a case against Dalip Dua and Samir Dua, partners of M/s G.D. Ispat Udyog in Mandi Gobindgarh, along with others, for allegedly conspiring to cheat the Indian Overseas Bank.

The investigation found that the accused had fraudulently secured a cash credit limit of four crore rupees from the bank by submitting false and fabricated information, causing a significant financial loss to the bank. Following the trial, the court convicted Samir Dua and pronounced the sentence. Proceedings against co-accused Dalip Dua were abated after his death.
