Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas, CAQM yesterday reviewed the enforcement actions, inspections and compliance status across the National Capital Region for the reporting period between 8th to 24th September. Environment Ministry said, a total of 197 inspections were reported during the period. These include 10 inspections at Construction and Demolition sites, 111 inspections in the Industrial Sector and 76 inspections related to Diesel Generator sets. Based on the inspections, violations were reported in 85 cases.
The Commission reiterated the need for continued strengthening of enforcement, timely verification of compliance and close coordination among implementing agencies for effective implementation of the prescribed norms. It also emphasized expeditious enforcement action, strict compliance monitoring and continued inspections across priority sectors to ensure effective mitigation of air pollution across the NCR.
