Campaigning Ends for 11 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council Seats; Polling on October 23

Campaigning has ended this evening for the legislative council elections across teachers and graduate constituencies in Uttar Pradesh. Polling for eleven seats will take place on October 23rd, with the counting of votes and final results scheduled for October 27th.

Administrative preparations are in their final stages across the state. In Amroha, District Election Officer Dr. Nitin Gaur presided over a comprehensive training session for sector and zonal magistrates earlier today.

In Farrukhabad, District Magistrate Dr. Ankur Lathar instructed polling staff to strictly adhere to the Election Commission’s directives. Meanwhile, in Etawah, District Magistrate Shubhrant Kumar Shukla confirmed that fourteen polling centers and thirty booths have been set up across the district.

Officials have issued a crucial advisory for voters heading to the booths: electors must mark their preference on the ballot papers using only the official pen provided inside the polling booth. Ballots marked with personal pens will not be counted. Additionally, carrying mobile phones inside the voting booth is strictly prohibited.
