These newly selected candidates will join various departments and Ministries. Behind every appointment letter lies a deeply personal story. Maybe somewhere in Rajasthan, a father proudly framed his son’s first government appointment letter.
बिल्कुल। हो सकता है केरलम में, अपनी पोती के चुने जाने की खबर सुनकर किसी दादी ने पड़ोसियों को मिठाई बांटी हो। हो सकता है पंजाब में, किसी युवा रंगरूट ने चुपचाप अपने संघर्ष के वर्षों को निहारा हो और अंत में धीरे से कहा हो, “यह सब सार्थक रहा।”
Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Jitendra Singh said that the Rozgar Mela has helped ensure transparent and time-bound recruitment. He highlighted that strict timelines and merit-based selection processes have increased confidence among the youth. And confidence matters.
Because when young people trust the system they dream bigger. They prepare harder. And they believe that effort can truly change destiny.

And perhaps that is the beauty of these stories. Different states. Different languages. Different backgrounds. But one shared feeling- pride in serving the nation. Across the country, Rozgar Melas reflected this spirit. In West Bengal, appointment letters were distributed in Kolkata, Kharagpur and Siliguri.

Isn’t it amazing how turtles seem to carry a sense of calm wherever they go? Slow, patient, and silent, they travel through water and land as though they are untouched by the rush of the modern world.
हर साल 23 मई को, दुनिया ‘विश्व कछुआ दिवस’ मनाती है-यह दिन उन असाधारण जीवों का उत्सव मनाने और उनकी रक्षा करने के लिए समर्पित है, जो लाखों वर्षों से पृथ्वी पर मौजूद हैं।
The day was first established in the year 2000, not merely as a celebration, but as a reminder. A reminder that some of nature’s most beautiful creations survive quietly and disappear quietly too, if we fail to notice them.
कछुए हमें एक बहुत ही गहरा और सार्थक सबक सिखाते हैं-वह है जुझारूपन। वे हमें सिखाते हैं कि धीमा होने का मतलब कमज़ोर होना नहीं है, और शांत होने का मतलब महत्वहीन होना नहीं है।
Turtles are reptiles belonging to the order Testudines, and they can be found in freshwater rivers, ponds, wetlands, and even deep oceans. Some spend most of their lives swimming through vast seas, while others prefer life on land. That brings us to a question many people often ask- are turtles and tortoises the same?
खैर, बिल्कुल ऐसा नहीं है। सभी कछुए (tortoises) टर्टल होते हैं, लेकिन सभी टर्टल कछुए नहीं होते। कछुए पूरी तरह से ज़मीन पर रहते हैं, जबकि कई टर्टल कुछ हद तक या ज़्यादातर पानी में रहते हैं। एक और दिलचस्प बात यह है कि टर्टल ठंडे खून वाले जीव होते हैं, जिन्हें एक्टोथर्म भी कहा जाता है। इंसानों की तरह अपने शरीर की गर्मी खुद पैदा करने के बजाय, वे अपने शरीर का तापमान बनाए रखने के लिए गर्म और ठंडी जगहों के बीच आते-जाते रहते हैं। और अपने धीमे मेटाबॉलिज़्म की वजह से, कुछ टर्टल बिना खाने या पानी के भी हैरानी की बात है कि काफी लंबे समय तक ज़िंदा रह सकते हैं।
Sea turtles, especially, are among the greatest travellers of the natural world. Species like the Olive Ridley, Green Turtle, Hawksbill, Leatherback, and Loggerhead cross enormous oceans during their lifetime. Isn’t nature astonishing?
बिल्कुल। और भारत के पास इस मामले में गर्व करने की हर वजह है। हमारा देश कछुओं की अद्भुत विविधता का घर है। असल में, भारत में ताज़े पानी के कछुओं की लगभग 30 प्रजातियाँ पाई जाती हैं, और उत्तर प्रदेश, असम तथा पश्चिम बंगाल जैसे राज्य इनके लिए महत्वपूर्ण आवास बन गए हैं।
India is also home to five species of sea turtles including Olive Ridley, Green Turtle, Loggerhead, Hawksbill, and Leatherback turtles. But sadly, these beautiful creatures face growing dangers. Plastic waste floating in rivers and oceans, shrinking habitats, climate change and illegal wildlife trade threaten their survival every single day.
समुद्र में तैरता हुआ एक प्लास्टिक का थैला हमें शायद बेजान और नुकसानरहित लगे। लेकिन एक कछुए के लिए, यह खाने जैसा दिख सकता है। और इंसानों की एक छोटी सी लापरवाही किसी जीव की जान ले सकती है। गैर-कानूनी तस्करी भी एक और गंभीर चिंता का विषय बनी हुई है, खासकर उत्तर प्रदेश और पश्चिम बंगाल के कुछ हिस्सों में, जहाँ अक्सर कछुओं का शिकार उनके मांस, पालतू जानवर बनाने या पारंपरिक दवाओं के लिए किया जाता है।
And this raises an important question for all of us- Can a species that survived dinosaurs truly disappear because of human carelessness? Thankfully, conservation efforts across India are giving hope. Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a leader in turtle conservation with dedicated centres in Kukrail in Lucknow, Sarnath in Varanasi, Chambal in Etawah, and even a 30-kilometre Turtle Sanctuary in Prayagraj.
वन विभाग कछुओं के अवैध व्यापार को रोकने के लिए भी सक्रिय रूप से काम कर रहा है, विशेष रूप से पीलीभीत जैसे क्षेत्रों में। और अब, पीलीभीत टाइगर रिज़र्व में माला नदी के किनारे एक नया ‘कछुआ संरक्षण और अनुसंधान केंद्र’ विकसित किया जा रहा है। ये प्रयास हमें याद दिलाते हैं कि संरक्षण का अर्थ केवल वन्यजीवों की रक्षा करना ही नहीं है, बल्कि प्रकृति के नाज़ुक संतुलन को बनाए रखना और हमारे सामूहिक भविष्य को सुरक्षित रखना भी है।

Sikkim is set to get its second international trade gateway after the Nathula Pass at Chewabhanjyang in West Sikkim. More from our correspondent;
“Plans underway to develop a multi-modal corridor and Integrated Check Post (ICP) at Chewabhanjyang in West Sikkim along the India-Nepal border. The project gained momentum after Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang visited Chewabhanjyang in 2024 and announced plans to develop a trade and connectivity corridor with Nepal. Recently, the Standing Committee of the State Board for Wildlife (SBWL) under the Forest Department held a meeting chaired by Forest Minister Pintso Namgyal Lepcha regarding the project. According to Chief Conservator of Forests Udai Gurung, the committee has given in-principle approval for the proposed multi-modal corridor and Integrated Check Post. The project aims to boost cross-border trade, tourism, and regional economic integration between India and Nepal. The proposed facility will include cargo handling services, warehousing, banking, healthcare, parking areas, and other essential services under one roof. Popular religious destination Pathibhara Devi Temple in Nepal currently takes around 12 hours to reach via Darjeeling in West Bengal. However, travel time could reduce to nearly five hours once the new corridor becomes operational. Govt. of Sikkim has already constructed an 18-kilometre road connecting Uttarey to Chewabhanjyang, paving the way for future trade and movement between the two neighbouring countries. उत्तराखंड की हिमालयी वादियों में इन दिनों आस्था, श्रद्धा और आध्यात्मिक उल्लास का अद्भुत संगम देखने को मिल रहा है। एक ओर चमोली ज़िले में स्थित सिखों के प्रसिद्ध तीर्थस्थल हेमकुण्ड साहिब के कपाट आज श्रद्धालुओं के लिए खोल दिए गए, वहीं दूसरी ओर चारधाम यात्रा में भी देश-विदेश से आने वाले श्रद्धालुओं की भारी भीड़ उमड़ रही है।
“चमोली ज़िले की ऊंची हिमालयी चोटियों के बीच स्थित हेमकुण्ड साहिब के कपाट आज पूर्वाह्न साढ़े ग्यारह बजे श्रद्धालुओं के लिए खोल दिए गए। कपाट खुलते ही पूरा क्षेत्र “जो बोले सो निहाल, सत श्री अकाल” के जयकारों से गूंज उठा। बड़ी संख्या में पहुंचे श्रद्धालुओं ने इस ऐतिहासिक और आध्यात्मिक पल का साक्षी बनकर मत्था टेका और गुरु घर में अरदास की। समुद्र तल से लगभग पंद्रह हजार फीट से अधिक ऊंचाई पर स्थित हेमकुण्ड साहिब सिख धर्म के सबसे पवित्र तीर्थस्थलों में गिना जाता है। मान्यता है कि सिखों के दसवें गुरु, गुरु गोविंद सिंह ने यहां तपस्या की थी। हेमकुण्ड साहिब यात्रा का मुख्य पड़ाव गोविंदघाट से शुरू होता है। यहां से श्रद्धालु घांघरिया होते हुए कठिन पैदल यात्रा कर गुरुद्वारे तक पहुंचते हैं। यात्रा शुरू होने से पहले मार्ग से बर्फ हटाने, सुरक्षा व्यवस्था मजबूत करने और श्रद्धालुओं की सुविधा से जुड़ी तैयारियां पूरी कर ली गई थीं। प्रशासन और गुरुद्वारा प्रबंधन समिति ने यात्रियों के लिए स्वास्थ्य, आवास और अन्य जरूरी व्यवस्थाएं सुनिश्चित की हैं। उधर, चारधाम यात्रा भी पूरे उत्साह के साथ जारी है। इस वर्ष अब तक लगभग 19 लाख श्रद्धालु चारों धामों के दर्शन कर चुके हैं। इनमें केदारनाथ धाम में सबसे अधिक लगभग सात लाख इक्यावन हजार श्रद्धालु पहुंचे हैं, जबकि बदरीनाथ में करीब पांच लाख श्रद्धालुओं ने भगवान बदरी विशाल के दर्शन किए हैं। वहीं गंगोत्री और यमुनोत्री धाम में भी लगभग साढ़े छह लाख तीर्थयात्री पहुंच चुके हैं। देवभूमि उत्तराखंड की हिमालयी वादियों में इन दिनों आस्था अपने चरम पर दिखाई दे रही है। कहीं गुरुबाणी की मधुर स्वर लहरियां गूंज रही हैं, तो कहीं मंदिरों की घंटियां और हर-हर महादेव के जयकारे वातावरण को भक्तिमय बना रहे हैं। बर्फ से ढकी चोटियों, ठंडी हवाओं और श्रद्धालुओं की अटूट आस्था के बीच उत्तराखंड एक बार फिर आध्यात्मिक ऊर्जा और सांस्कृतिक विरासत की जीवंत तस्वीर बनकर उभर रहा है। परिक्रमा के लिए आकाशवाणी देहरादून से साक्षी सिंह”

HLL officials said the new range combines comfort, hygiene, affordability, and sustainability, making it accessible to women in both urban and rural communities. The company added that innovation driven healthcare solutions remain central to its mission, particularly in the areas of women’s health and public well being. The rollout is part of this public sector organisation’s broader efforts to strengthen menstrual health awareness and expand access to quality hygiene products through healthcare institutions, public distribution systems, and outreach programmes. Public health experts say sustainable menstrual products can help reduce environmental burden while promoting safer hygiene practices among women and adolescents. आज भारतीय शास्त्रीय संगीत की सुप्रसिद्ध गायिका वसुंधरा कोमकली की जयंती है। वसुंधरा कोमकली हिंदुस्तानी शास्त्रीय संगीत की अग्रणी गायिकाओं में गिनी जाती थीं। उनका जन्म 23 मई 1931 को जमशेदपुर में हुआ था। उन्होंने ग्वालियर घराने की परंपरा को अपनी विशिष्ट शैली में आगे बढ़ाया। वसुंधरा कोमकली ने खयाल गायन, निर्गुण भजन और लोकधुनों को बेहद भावपूर्ण अंदाज में प्रस्तुत किया। वे लंबे समय तक आकाशवाणी और दूरदर्शन की नियमित कलाकार रहीं तथा देश-विदेश के अनेक प्रतिष्ठित संगीत समारोहों में अपनी प्रस्तुतियों से श्रोताओं को मंत्रमुग्ध किया। भारतीय शास्त्रीय संगीत में उनके अमूल्य योगदान के लिए उन्हें वर्ष 2006 में पद्मश्री और संगीत नाटक अकादमी पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया।
