जनजातीय मामलों के राज्य मंत्री दुर्गादास उइके ने ‘वन धन कॉन्क्लेव’ में बोलते हुए, कहा कि आदिवासी समुदाय सिर्फ़ प्रकृति के रक्षक ही नहीं हैं, बल्कि प्राचीन ज्ञान के भी संरक्षक हैं।
For centuries, they have lived in balance with forests, water, and biodiversity. Think about a simple example- while many of us today are switching to organic products, tribal communities have always depended on natural, chemical-free resources for their food, medicine, and livelihood. Sustainability, for them, isn’t a trend- it’s a way of life.

Well Vaishnavi, the reality is, for a long time, they didn’t. Middlemen often stepped in, buying forest produce like mahua, tendu leaves, honey, lac, and sal seeds at extremely low prices. A tribal family collecting honey from deep forests would put in days of effort, only to receive a fraction of its true value.
लेकिन पिछले एक दशक मे स्थिति में सुधर हो रहा है। अब सरकार सिर्फ़ मदद नहीं, बल्कि सशक्त बनाने पर ध्यान दे रही है। 2018 में ‘वन धन योजना’ शुरू हुई, जिससे आदिवासी समुदायों को ट्रेनिंग और सीधे बाज़ार तक पहुँच मिल रही है।

The seven-day International Film Festival Delhi 2026 will conclude today at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The festival showcased more than 125 films from across the world, marking a major addition to India’s global cinema calendar. The week-long film festival showcased short-film screenings at multiple PVR venues in the national capital, including Saket, Vasant Kunj, Patel Nagar, and Pitampura, offering audiences a diverse and engaging cinematic experience on the closing day. The festival aimed to boost the creative economy, support film tourism, give fresh talent opportunities, and facilitate creators with a single window. Talking exclusively to Akashvani News, filmmaker Ranjan Kumar described the film festival as a promising initiative, noting that although it is being organised for the first time, it carries the potential to grow into a major international event similar to other prominent film festivals in the county.
On the last day of the Film Festival today a gala screening of Gujarati Language devotional drama film – Krishna Sada Sahaayate will be organised. For the first time, the Census will be conducted digitally, and the option of Self-Enumeration will also be available. “The third edition of the Culinary Cascade was recently simmering at the scenic Ward’s Lake here in Shillong. The State tourism department and the Chief Minister’s Meghalaya Grassroots Music Program jointly created a platform for farmers, entrepreneurs and artisans to showcase their agricultural produce and innovative farming methods.Held on March 27th and 28th, this extraordinary event’s goal was to promote Meghalaya as a culinary tourism destination while supporting local talent and businesses. Officially launched by Chief Minister Shri Conrad K Sangma, the Culinary Cascade featured a wide range of activities including panel discussions, culinary demonstrations, product launches, and musical performances. During the inauguration, the Chief Minister also announced an initiative called Mission 1000 that aimed at tackling malnutrition and stunting among children in the state through targeted nutrition and monitoring. The Culinary Cascade’s theme was crafted for all five senses and it had Meghalaya’s aromatic local delicacies and innovative fusion dishes on display. That said, the event was more than a feast for visitors, it was a tribute to Meghalaya’s rich culinary heritage as the focus was on indigenous ingredients, age-old recipes, and the stories behind every bite. Kamala Das, is renowned for its poems and candid autobiography. Her works are known for originality, versatility and indigenous flavour of the soil. She was also a widely read columnist and wrote on diverse topics including women’s issues, child care, politics, etc. On 31 May 2009, aged 75, she died at Jehangir Hospital in Pune.

Koneru Humpy was born on this day in 1987. He is an Indian chess grandmaster. Koneru is a runner-up of the Women’s World Chess Championship and the reigning two-time Women’s World Rapid Chess Champion. In 2002, she became the youngest female player—and the first Indian female player—to achieve the title of Grandmaster, aged 15 years, 1 month, 27 days, a record only since surpassed by Hou Yifan. Koneru is a gold medallist at the Olympiad, Asian Games, and Asian Championship.
In October 2007, she became the second female player, after Judit Polgár, to exceed the 2600 Elo rating mark, being rated 2606. Koneru won the Women’s World Rapid Chess Championship in 2019 and 2024.
