Today, swimming strokes are slicing through the water, weights are being lifted with raw strength, and on the football field, every pass carries purpose. In fact, the men’s football clash between Chhattisgarh and West Bengal ended in a gripping 1-1 draw- a proof that the competition is as fierce as it is inspiring.

The Games are spread across culturally rich regions like Jagdalpur, Bastar, and Surguja of Chhattisgarh. Each location brings its own rhythm, its own traditions, its own stories.

Its forests, festivals, and traditions are deeply connected to physical endurance, agility, and skill. The Games, running from 25th of March to 3rd April, feature seven competitive sports- those are- archery, athletics, football, hockey.

 

तैराकी, भारोत्तोलन और कुश्ती के साथ-साथ, कुछ सांस्कृतिक रत्न-मल्लखंभ और कबड्डी-भी प्रदर्शन खेलों के रूप में प्रस्तुत किए गए हैं; ये सभी को याद दिलाते हैं कि भारत की स्वदेशी परंपराएँ किसी भी आधुनिक खेल विधा जितनी ही सशक्त हैं।

 

The grand opening was led by Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, alongside Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. And the most exciting part is that- these Games aren’t a one-time event. They are set to become an annual celebration right here in Chhattisgarh. Addressing the ceremony, the Union Minister said that the Khelo India Tribal Games will now be held annually in Chhattisgarh. He stated that tribal athletes from across the country will come to the state to showcase their talent.

You have the Khelo India Youth Games for school-level athletes, the Khelo India University Games for young champions in colleges, and even the Khelo India Winter Games showcasing talent in ice and snow sports.

उत्तराखंड में सहकारिता के माध्यम से ग्रामीण अर्थव्यवस्था को मजबूत करने की दिशा में लगातार काम हो रहा है।  मिलेट्स मिशन, सब्जी क्रय, रेशम उत्पादन और सामूहिक खेती जैसी गतिविधियां अब गांवों में आर्थिक मजबूती का आधार बनती जा रही हैं। सहकारिता के इन प्रयासों के बारे में और अधिक जानते हैं हमारी  संवाददाता से-

 

ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में अर्थव्यवस्था को मजबूत करने में सहकारिता अहम भूमिका निभा रही है। राज्य में मिलेट्स मिशन के तहत 214 क्रय केंद्रों के माध्यम से करीब 53 हजार कुंतल मंडुवा की खरीद की गई है, जिससे सहकारी समितियों को लगभग 53 लाख रुपये की आय प्राप्त हुई है। वहीं मुख्यमंत्री घसियारी कल्याण योजना के अंतर्गत 181 केंद्रों के जरिए करीब 20 हजार टन साइलेज का वितरण किया गया है, जिससे समितियों को लगभग 63 लाख रुपये की आय हुई है। टिहरी और उत्तरकाशी में सहकारी समितियों द्वारा किसानों से सीधे सब्जियों की खरीद की जा रही है। इस वर्ष अब तक करीब डेढ़ करोड़ रुपये की सब्जियां खरीदी जा चुकी हैं, जिससे किसानों को बेहतर बाजार मिला है और समितियों को भी आय प्राप्त हुई है। आगामी एक अप्रैल से इस व्यवस्था का विस्तार 22 समितियों तक किया जाएगा। बायोफर्टिलाइजर के क्रय–विक्रय में भी सहकारी समितियां सक्रिय हैं, जिससे कई समितियों को लाखों रुपये की आय हुई है। इसके साथ ही माधो सिंह भंडारी सामूहिक सहकारी खेती योजना के तहत चमोली और पौड़ी में फूलों की खेती को बढ़ावा दिया जा रहा है। रेशम उत्पादन के क्षेत्र में भी सहकारिता महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभा रही है। हजारों कीटपालक और बुनकर इससे जुड़े हैं, जिससे रोजगार के अवसर बढ़ रहे हैं और रेशम उत्पादों का उत्पादन व बिक्री भी लगातार बढ़ रही है। इन सभी प्रयासों के जरिए सहकारिता न केवल ग्रामीण अर्थव्यवस्था को मजबूत कर रही है, बल्कि किसानों और युवाओं को आत्मनिर्भर बनाने की दिशा में भी अहम भूमिका निभा रही है। परिक्रमा के लिए आकाशवाणी देहरादून से साक्षी सिंह

Goa is emerging as a model for balanced fertilizer use, as the Centre steps up efforts to promote sustainable agriculture under the PM-PRANAM that is Prime Minister’s Programme for Restoration, Awareness Generation, Nourishment, and Amelioration of Mother-Earth scheme. “The Government of India has reinforced the need for balanced and sustainable use of fertilizers, with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research recommending soil test-based nutrient management tailored to local conditions. Data released by the Press Information Bureau shows that Goa’s N:P:K consumption ratio has remained relatively balanced over the past three years—improving from 2.0:1.4:1 in 2022-23 to 1.7:0.9:1 in 2024-25. This is significantly better than the national average, which continues to be skewed towards nitrogen use. Experts say Goa’s trend reflects lower dependence on urea and greater scope for integrated nutrient management, including organic inputs and bio-fertilisers. Under the PM-PRANAM scheme, states are incentivised to reduce chemical fertilizer consumption and adopt sustainable practices. The initiative promotes the 4R approach—right quantity, right time, right type, and right method of application. The Centre says such measures will help improve soil health and ensure long-term sustainability of agriculture in states like Goa. For Parikrama Mahesh Chopade Panaji.””

” The Union Territory of Chandigarh has completed 75 years of its creation. To mark the day, a special programme named – ‘75 Years of Chandigarh: Honouring Indian Modernists of Chandigarh’, was organized in which 12 Indian modernists were felicitated. These 12, only one, a 94-years old architect Sh. S D Sharma was present to receive the memento in person. The remaining 11 were represented by their family members. These 11 Indian professionals were – ICS officers Sh. M S Randhawa, P N Thapar and A L Fletcher; architects Aditya Prakash, A R Prabhawalkar, Jeet Malhotra, B P Mathur, J K Chowdhury, M N Sharma, U E Chowdhury and Chief Engineer, Capital Project, P L Varma.  Addressing the gathering, Punjab Governor, Sh. Kataria, while referring to the city’s journey since its development began in 1951, said it is because of the extraordinary contributions of these pioneers that Chandigarh today stands as India’s most modern and most liveable city. He described Chandigarh, as a symbol of modern India’s vision and planned development.

 

Chandiagrh, which is known as The City Beautiful and was referred to as a City of Green Hedges and Grey Beards, has changed with the time. Marking 2026 as the 75th year of the beginning of Chandigarh’s making, Sh. Kataria called upon all citizens, institutions and organisations to join a three-year-long commemoration through 2026 to 2028. Basanti Puja — the worship of Goddess Durga in the spring season, believed to have originated with King Suratha in the Satya Yuga. Preserving its heritage and glory, it has become an important part of Tripura’s festive calendar. Since 1949, Basanti Puja has been organized at the historic Durgabari temple in Agartala under government management, following its own unique rituals and customs. A report.

 

Social and religious festivals evolve over time, adapting to changing contexts while continuing to preserve their identity and acceptance among people. According to scriptures, Basanti Puja — the springtime worship of Goddess Durga — traces its origin to King Suratha’s devotion to the ten-armed goddess, the destroyer of evil. Although the autumn Durga Puja, marked by the ritual of Akal Bodhan, is more widely celebrated today, Basanti Puja continues to return every year, sustaining its own distinct legacy. Tripura, too, proudly preserves this tradition. At the historic Durgabari temple in Agartala, closely associated with the royal heritage of the state, Basanti Puja carries its own fascinating story and charm, much like the autumn festival. Here, Goddess Durga is not worshipped in the conventional ten-armed form. Instead, the deity appears in a slightly different manifestation. This was explained by Jayanta Bhattacharjee, a representative of the sixth generation of the royal priestly family.

Indian stock markets remained closed today on the occasion of Ram Navami. Trading was halted at both the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange across segments, including equities, equity derivatives, currency derivatives, and securities lending and borrowing.

 

Meanwhile, trading in the commodities segment was shut during the morning session, as per the Multi Commodity Exchange of India. However, trading will resume in the evening session at 5 pm.

 

 

In the global crude oil market, Brent Crude was trading 3.8 per cent up at 106 US dollars and nine cents per barrel, while WTI Crude was trading over 3.3 per cent higher at 93 US dollars and 35 cents per barrel in intra-day trade.

प्रसिद्ध मूर्तिकार कटिंगेरी कृष्णा हेब्बार की आज पुण्यतिथि हैl के. के. हेब्बार अधिकांशत: भारत विषयक कलाकृति ही बनाया करते थे। उन्‍होंने आरंभ में लगातार मालाबार और तुलु नाडू के सतत क्षेत्रों का चित्रण किया। उनकी कला पॉल गौगुइन और अमृता शेरगिल से प्रेरित थी। आर्ट नाऊ इन इंडिया में उन्होंने पहली बार अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर दर्शकों का दिल जीता। कला में योगदान के लिए उन्‍हें पद्म श्री, पद्म भूषण और ललित कला अकादमी पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया है।

Ananda Shankar (11 December 1942 – 26 March 1999)

 

Remembering the legendary Ananda Shankar on his death anniversary.

 

He was an Indian sitar player, singer, and composer whose music blended Western and Eastern musical styles.

 

In the late 1960s, Shankar travelled to Los Angeles, where he played with many contemporary musicians including Jimi Hendrix. There he was signed to Reprise Records and released his first album, Ananda Shankar, in 1970, with original Indian classical material alongside sitar-based cover versions of popular hits, like The Rolling Stones’ “

 

Returning to India in the early 1970s, Shankar continued to experiment musically and in 1975 released his album, Ananda Shankar and His Music, a jazz-funk mix of Eastern sitar, Western rock guitar, tabla and mridangam, drums and Moog synthesizers.

 

 May his music continue to bridge traditions and inspire generations.
