With 65% of the nation’s population under the age of 35, it is crucial to provide them with opportunities for quality education and skills development.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to the first education minister of independent India, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad on his birth anniversary today. In a social media post, the Prime Minister said that Maulana Azad is remembered as a beacon of knowledge and for his role in India’s freedom movement. Mr Modi said he was also a deep thinker and prolific writer. The Prime Minister said that the government remains motivated by his vision for a developed and empowered India.

शिक्षा के माध्यम से भारत में बदलाव
भारत सरकार ने विभिन्न उपक्रमों और सांवैधानिक प्रावधानों के माध्यम से शिक्षा तक पहुंच को बढ़ावा देने के लिए महत्वपूर्ण कदम उठाए हैं। संविधान के 86वें संशोधन द्वारा अनुच्छेद 21-ए के माध्यम से निःशुल्क प्राथमिक शिक्षा की शुरुआत को सुदृढ़ किया गया। यह छह से चौदह वर्ष की आयु के बच्चों के लिए मौलिक अधिकार के रूप में मुफ्त और अनिवार्य शिक्षा की गारंटी देता है। शिक्षा का अधिकार (आरटीई) अधिनियम 2009 जो 1 अप्रैल, 2010 को लागू हुआ, यह सुनिश्चित करता है कि प्रत्येक बच्चे को एक औपचारिक स्कूल में गुणवत्तापूर्ण प्रारंभिक शिक्षा प्राप्त हो जो निर्धारित मानदंडों को पूरा करती हो।
एनईपी 2020 : प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी के कुशल नेतृत्व में केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने 29 जुलाई, 2020 को राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति (एनईपी) 2020 को मंजूरी दी। एनईपी 21वीं सदी की जरूरतों के साथ बेहतर तालमेल बनाने के लिए भारत की शिक्षा प्रणाली में सुधार करना चाहती है, जिससे अधिक समावेशी और आगे की सोच वाले दृष्टिकोण को बढ़ावा मिल सके।
समग्र शिक्षा : एनईपी 2020 की सिफारिशों के साथ अनुरूप समग्र शिक्षा का उद्देश्य सभी बच्चों के लिए एक समावेशी और न्यायसंगत कक्षा वातावरण के साथ गुणवत्तापूर्ण शिक्षा प्रदान करना है, जो उनकी विविध पृष्ठभूमि और जरूरतों को पूरा करता है।
PRERNA: Launched its pilot phase from January 15, 2024, to February 17, 2024, at a vernacular school in Vadnagar, Gujarat. The initiative is a week-long residential program designed for selected students from class IX to XII. It aims to offer an experiential and inspirational learning experience, blending heritage with innovation through state-of-the-art technology. Each week, a batch of 20 students (10 boys and 10 girls) from across the country will participate in the program.
NIPUN Bharat: The National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy (NIPUN Bharat) was launched by the Department of School Education & Literacy on 5th July 2021. The mission aims to ensure that every child in the country achieves foundational literacy and numeracy by the end of Grade 3, with a target completion by 2026

SWAYAM Plus: SWAYAM Plus, which was officially launched on 27th February 2024 by Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister of Education. The initiative seeks to revolutionize higher education and improve employability by implementing an innovative credit recognition system for industry-relevant courses, emphasizing skill development, employability, and forging stronger industry partnerships.

IFFI
The 55th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) will begin on the 20th of this month in Goa. Briefing the media at the curtain-raiser press conference in New Delhi today, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr. L. Murugan said that there has been immense response from filmmakers and audiences for IFFI. Dr. Murugan said it is one of the largest film festivals at the international level. He added that Indian cinema is playing a huge role in the country’s economy.

He mentioned that a new award, the Best Indian Debut Director Award, has been introduced to encourage fresh talent. The Secretary said that this year, IFFI has received 1,676 submissions from 101 countries. Over 180 international films from 81 countries have been selected for the festival.

Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri will be inaugurating the 27th Energy Technology Meet in Bengaluru tomorrow. The three days event will see keynote addresses by stakeholders, senior government officials and experts.
“India has set a target of achieving a non fossil fuel energy capacity of 500 GW by 2030. It also has made efforts to fulfil at least half of its energy requirements through renewable energy by 2030. It is also working on reducing carbon dioxide emissions by one billion tons by 2030 and reducing carbon intensity below 45 percent by 2030. It has the ambitious target of achieving a net zero emission target by 2070. The three days Energy Technology Meet in Bengaluru starting tomorrow will dwell deep into cost effective solutions to increase energy efficiency and energy transition towards renewable and green energy. It will also discuss the road map to make India self-sufficient in the energy sector. The meet will be attended by over 1500 delegates participating in 15 technical sessions. There will be 60 papers and posters presented on this occasion. There will also be exhibitors showcasing latest technologies in the field of zero emission mechanisms and energy efficient systems. The focus areas of the meet are changing energy landscape, driving refinancing towards a sustainable future, aligning refineries towards net zero emissions and advances in petrochemical technologies. हिमाचल प्रदेश पारंपरिक रीति-रिवाजों, त्यौहारों के लिए देश ही नहीं बल्कि विदेश भर में भी अहम स्थान रखता है। प्रदेश की सांस्कृतिक और आर्थिक समृद्वि को कायम रखने में वर्षों से आयोजित किए जाने वाले विविध मेले महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाते हैं। इसी कड़ी में आज से हिमाचल प्रदेश में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर के दो मेले आयोजित हो रहे हैं। एक ओर जहां सिरमौर जिले में धार्मिक आस्था का प्रतीक पांच दिवसीय श्री रेणुका जी अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मेला आरंभ हो रहा है, वहीं शिमला जिले के रामपुर बुशहर में ऐतिहासिक चार दिवसीय अंतर्राष्ट्रीय लवी मेला भी आरंभ हो रहा है।
“देवभूमि हिमाचल प्रदेश में वर्ष भर धार्मिक के अलावा आर्थिक व सांस्कृतिक उत्सवों का आयोजन होता रहता है। प्रदेश में कुछ ऐसे मेले भी हैं जो अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर धार्मिक आस्था के साथ-साथ व्यापारिक दृष्टि से भी अहम स्थान रखते हैं। आज प्रदेश में दो अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मेलों का शुभारंभ पारंपरिक रीति-रिवाजों के साथ हो रहा है जिनमें सर्वप्रथम सिरमौर जिले का अंतर्राष्ट्रीय श्री रेणुका जी मेला शामिल है। धार्मिक आस्था से जुड़ा ये मेला मां रेणुका और पुत्र परशुराम के पारंपरिक मिलन का प्रतीक है। दूसरी ओर आज ही शिमला जिले में रामपुर बुशहर का अंतर्राष्ट्रीय लवी मेले का भी आगाज हो रहा है। लवी मेला व्यापारिक दृष्टि से अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर बड़ा महत्व रखता है। राज्यपाल शिव प्रताप शुक्ल मेले का शुभारंभ करेंगे। पूर्व बुशहर रियासत और तिब्बत के बीच आज से करीब 300 वर्ष पहले हुई एक व्यापारिक संधि की स्मृति की ये मेला मनाया जाता है। लवी शब्द पहाड़ी भाषा के लोई शब्द से आया है जिसका अर्थ एक पतली रज़ाई या ऊन का कम्बल। ये भी कहा जाता है कि लवी मेला भारत-तिब्बत व्यापार में ऊन की वस्तुओं के लेन-देन की स्मृति है। रामपुर उस समय तिब्बत से अफगानिस्तान की ओर जाने वाले व्यापारिक सिल्क रूट में एक अहम पड़ाव बिन्दु के रूप में कार्य करता था। कहा जाता है कि प्राचीन समय में इस समूचे क्षेत्र में बर्फबारी से जनजीवन प्रभावित रहता था इसलिए सर्दियों से ठीक पहले आयोजित होने वाले इस व्यापारिक मेले का महत्व उस समय और भी बढ़ जाता था जब लोग आने वाली सर्दी को ध्यान में रखते हुए जरूरी वस्तुओं का संचय अपने पास कर लेते थे। अंतर्राष्ट्रीय लवी मेले में हाथों से तैयार ऊनी वस्त्र, सूखे मेवे जिनमें बादाम, चिलगोजा व खुमानी जैसे उत्पादों का व्यापार बड़े स्तर पर होता है। इसके अलावा चामुर्थी और गुंथ नस्ल के घोड़े और याक का व्यापार आज भी प्रमुख रूप से होता है। चामुर्थी नस्ल के घोड़े बर्फीले पहाड़ी क्षेत्रों में आवाजाही और ढुलाई के लिए अहम भूमिका निभाते हैं। मेले में किन्नौर, लाहौल स्पीति, कुल्लू, मंडी और शिमला जिलों के लाखों लोग अपने उत्पादों की बिक्री के लिए यहां पहुंचते हैं। वर्षों से मनाए जा रहे ये पौराणिक मेले जहां आज भी हिमाचल की संस्कृति को एक सूत्र में पिरोए हुए हैं वहीं व्यापार के जरिए प्रदेश के आर्थिक विकास में भी अपनी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभा रहे हैं। परिक्रमा के लिए आकाशवाणी शिमला से रितेश कपूर।”

The annual Jhiri Mela which is celebrated at Jhiri village in the outskirts of Jammu city, situated around 20 Kms away from Jammu on Jammu-Akhnoor National Highway has been set for November 14-24 this year. The Mela is held at Jhiri village every year on Kartik Poornima in October or November. This Mela signifies the courage, honesty, innocence, humility, culture and truthfulness of a revolutionary farmer Baba Jitto and is attended by lakhs of devotees across the nation and abroad.
“The 10 days Jhiri Mela is anticipated to attract about 20 lakh visitors, making it an opportunity for government departments to actively promote schemes and programmes that benefit rural populations. Various Government departments will set up specialised kiosks to provide information on relevant government schemes, ensuring farmers’ welfare remains central. This event is a platform to promote local craftsmen and highlight traditional arts for visitors from beyond J&K. The event is vital not only for local agriculture but for showcasing Jammu’s cultural heritage. Enhanced efforts have been made to educate attendees, especially farmers about agricultural advancements, available seeds and fertilisers. The UT administration is busy in making arrangements for the forthcoming event including infrastructure up-gradation, blacktopping of all main and link roads, rejuvenation and improved accessibility to Bawa Talab, sanitation, public safety and reasonable pricing of farming tools etc at the event. Besides, plans for crowd management, parking, health services and uninterrupted water and electricity supply reaffirming the administration’s commitment towards making this year’s Jhiri Mela a memorable and impactful event. The fair is celebrated to salute the courage of Baba Jit Mal, popularly known as Baba Jitto. The whole Jhiri village is magnificently decorated by the local inhabitants during the event. This Mela is associated with the supreme sacrifice of the honest farmer Baba Jitto who was a Brahmin and great devotee of Mata Vaishno Devi and fought against injustice and laid down his life after he was cheated by the Kardar of the area. He sacrificed his life for justice and righteousness. He is greatly known for his fearless character who laid down his life to defend the values of honesty and justice. During the event various exhibitions stalls depicting various technologies are set by the different departments. Awareness on various agricultural and allied sectors schemes is also created among the visiting farmers. Various articles such as pots, books, toys etc are also sold which are based on Baba Jitto’s life. Baba Jitto is very famous and he has a great regard among the farmers’ community. The Jhiri Mela is an important annual congregation of farmers and other pilgrims who gather at Jhiri village to pay homage to Dogra folk hero Baba Jitto. It is a source of attraction for the devotees from across India and abroad. The Mela witnesses’ great hustle and bustle as pilgrims’ families and various groups belonging to different communities and hailing from different parts of the country congregate there to pay obeisance to Baba Jitto and seek his blessings. People from different nooks and corners of the country also visit this spot throughout the year and enjoy the unique place of spirituality. In the Global Crude Market, Brent Crude was trading over one percent down at 73 dollars and five cents per barrel, and WTI Crude shed over one percent to trade at 69 dollars and 50 cents per barrel, when reports last came in.
In the Indian bullion market, the 24 Karat Gold was trading down at 77,000 rupees for 10 grams, Silver 999 fine, is trading up at 91,680 per one kilogram, when reports last came in.

Badruddin Jamaluddin Kazi (1924 – 29 July 2003), professionally and popularly known as Johnny Walker, was an Indian actor and comedian who acted in around 300 films. He was best known for his humorous roles in Indian films, notably being typecast as a hapless drunkard. Johnny Walker nurtured his desire to work in films and entertained passengers while working the BEST buses with amusing routines, hoping that he would at some point be spotted by someone with connection in a film. Balraj Sahni was either at that time writing the script for Baazi (1951), or acting in Hulchul, told Kazi to demonstrate his drunkard act to Guru Dutt. From that meeting, he gained a role in Baazi. It was Guru Dutt who gave him the name of Johnny Walker, a reference to the brand of Scotch whisky, when he was inspired by Kazi’s display in the role of a drunkard.
Johnny Walker was particularly satisfied with his work in B. R. Chopra’s Naya Daur (1957), Chetan Anand’s Taxi Driver (1954) and Bimal Roy’s Madhumati (1958).His final film came after an absence of 14 years when he took a role in a remake of Mrs. Doubtfire titled Chachi 420 (1997).

माला सिन्हा (अंग्रेज़ी:Mala Sinha, जन्म: 11 नवम्बर, 1936) बॉलीवुड की प्रसिद्ध अभिनेत्री हैं। माला सिन्हा ने फ़िल्मों में लंबा सफर तय किया और अपनी अलग पहचान बनाई। वे बांग्ला फ़िल्मों से हिंदी फ़िल्मों में आई थीं। ‘बादशाह’ से हिंदी फ़िल्मों में प्रवेश करने वाली माला सिन्हा ने एक सौ से कुछ ज्यादा फ़िल्में कीं।
In a career spanning four decades, Mala Sinha rose to prominence with films like Guru Dutt’s Pyaasa (1957) and Yash Chopra’s Dhool Ka Phool (1959). Later, she starred in over hundred film productions including Phir Subah Hogi (1958), Hariyali Aur Rasta, Anpadh (both 1962),
माला सिन्हा ने ऑल इंडिया रेडियो के कोलकाता केंद्र से गायिका के रूप में अपना करियर शुरू किया और जल्दी ही बांग्ला फ़िल्मों के माध्यम से रुपहले पर्दे पर पहुंच गई। उन्होंने बंगाली फ़िल्म “जय वैष्णो देवी” में बतौर बाल कलाकार काम किया।
Dil Tera Deewana (1962), Gumrah, Bahurani (both 1963), Himalay Ki God Mein (1965), Aasra (1966), Ankhen, Do Kaliyan (both 1968), Maryada (1971). She was known as the “daring diva” and “torch bearer of women’s cinema” for essaying strong female centric and unconventional roles in a range of movies considered ahead of their times. Having received multiple awards and nominations, she was given the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018.
उनकी बांग्ला फ़िल्मों में “लौह कपाट” को अच्छी ख्याति मिली। जब माला सिन्हा हिंदी फ़िल्मों में काम करने मुंबई आईं तब रुपहले पर्दे पर नर्गिस, मीना कुमारी, मधुबाला और नूतन जैसी प्रतिभाएं अपने जलवे बिखेर रही थीं। माला के लगभग साथ-साथ वैजयंती माला और वहीदा रहमान भी आ गईं। इन सबके बीच अपनी पहचान बनाना बेहद कठिन काम था। इसे माला का कमाल ही कहना होगा कि वे पूरी तरह से कामयाब रहीं।
फ़िल्म ‘जहांआरा’ में माला सिन्हा ने शाहजहां की बेटी जहांआरा का किरदार ख़ूबसूरती से निभाया। फ़िल्म मर्यादा में उन्होंने दोहरी भूमिका की थी।
