Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the Centre’s high-level committee on “artificial” demographic changes due to illegal immigration and other unnatural causes will also assess whether a law is required to tackle the issue.
Mr Shah said, committee will examine the causes behind the artificial demographic shifts that have occurred across the nation. It will deliberate on the remedial measures required, and, should the enactment of any specific legislation be necessary, he said. Home Minister was addressing a function in Gandhinagar yesterday after inaugurating and laying foundation stone of development projects worth 340 crore rupees. The Home Minister said, the Centre is determined to identify and expel every ghuspaithiya or infiltrator from the country.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting yesterday to review preparations for the Commonwealth Games and proposed Olympics to be hosted in Ahmedabad. Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi and senior officials were present at the meeting. In a social media post, Mr Shah said , Modi government is expanding world-class sports infrastructure and state-of-the-art training facilities in India. He said, in line with this, review meetings were held in Ahmedabad regarding the progress of sports infrastructure and related projects.
Ahmedabad would be hosting the 2030 Commonwealth Games and has officially submitted a bid for the 2036 Olympics.

According to a new WMO report, Annual global mean near-surface temperatures during 2026-2030 are predicted to range between 1.3 and 1.9 degrees Celsius above the 1850-1900 average. According to the report, there is an 86 per cent chance that at least one year between 2026 and 2030 will surpass 2024 as the warmest year on record. There is an El Nino predicted for the end of 2026, which increases the chances of 2027 becoming the next record-breaking year, said Dr Leon Hermanson, lead author of the report.

Researchers have found redback spiders, also known as Australian black widows, in Ennore Creek on the northern edge of Chennai. This is the first time the venomous species has been recorded in the city and in a coastal lowland area of Tamil Nadu. Earlier, the species had been found in Coimbatore, Madurai, and parts of the Eastern Ghats. Researchers believe the warm and dry conditions of the old fly ash pond in Ennore may support the spider’s spread, while nearby salt marsh vegetation suggests it can adapt to coastal environments.

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to develop a “one-stop multi-purpose Unified Card” for every citizen of the state. The card will include details of all welfare benefits and government services across departments. The Chief Minister also ordered a special drive to collect detailed individual and family data, which will form the basis of an AI-based profiling system. He also instructed the IT department to issue the Unified Cards centrally instead of different departments issuing separate cards. The Unified Card will include information from various schemes such as Aarogyasri, the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, fee reimbursement programs, labour welfare, and education services. The aim is to simplify access to welfare benefits and improve delivery for poor and vulnerable sections of society.

International Day of UN Peacekeepers is observed every year on 29 May to honor the professionalism, dedication, and courage of military, police, and civilian personnel serving in United Nations peacekeeping missions around the world. The theme for this year is “Invest in Peace,”. It highlights the importance of strengthening peacekeeping efforts even during times of limited resources.
The United Nations General Assembly established this day in 2002, choosing 29 May because on this date in 1948, the first UN peacekeeping mission United Nations Truce Supervision Organization was created by the UN Security Council in the Middle East.
India has played a significant and longstanding role in UN peacekeeping. फिल्म आनंद ए जब षिकेश मुखर्जी को गानों की जरूरत थी, तो गुलजार साहब ने उन्हें गेश जी का नाम सुझाया। ऋषिकेश जी ने योगेश जी को बुलाया और फिल्म कहानी सुनाई। कहानी सुनकर योगेश जी इतने प्रभावित हुए कि उन्होंने रंत वहीं बैठे-बैठे कुछ लाइनें लिख दीं। वह लाइनें थीं जिंदगी कैसी है पहेली हाय, कभी तो हँसाए, कभी ये रुलाए
फिल्मों में बारिश के गानों की कोई कमी नहीं है, लेकिन जो बात योगेश जी के लिखे इस गीत में है, वो कहीं नहीं। आर. डी. बर्मन साहब के संगीत से सजा फिल्म मंज़िलका गाना रिमझिम गिरे सावन खुद योगेश जी के दिल के सबसे करीब था। वो अक्सर कहा करते थे कि इस गीत के शब्द उनकी अपनी रूह के बेहद करीब हैं।
