The first International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA) Summit, which was scheduled to take place in New Delhi on June 1, has been postponed to a later date. It was being organised in conjunction with the Fourth India-Africa Forum Summit (IAFS IV) as several African countries host big cats and are important partners in global efforts towards conservation, ecological sustainability and biodiversity protection. In a statement, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change said that following the decision taken in consultation with the chairperson of the African Union and the African Union Commission to convene the Fourth India-Africa Forum Summit at a later date. New dates for the summit will be announced in due course following consultations with participating countries and stakeholders.

The Directorate General of Health Services has issued an advisory regarding Ebola Disease for passengers arriving from or transiting through affected countries. According to the advisory, travellers who have visited high-risk countries, including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda and South Sudan, and are experiencing symptoms such as fever, headache, muscle pain, unexplained bleeding and vomiting, sore throat have been urged to seek immediate medical attention.
Government has said that passengers who have had direct contact with blood or body fluids of a suspected or confirmed Ebola patient must report immediately to the Airport Health Officer or Health Desk before immigration clearance. The authorities have further stated that any traveller developing such symptoms within 21 days of arrival should promptly seek medical care and inform healthcare authorities about their travel history. Passengers have been advised to cooperate with health screening and public health measures to ensure safety and compliance with International Health Regulations. मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता ने घोषणा की है कि राजधानी में 13 वर्षों बाद 15 मई से नए राशन कार्ड जारी करने की प्रक्रिया फिर शुरू कर दी गई है। अब ई-डिस्ट्रिक्ट पोर्टल के जरिए नए राशन कार्ड और परिवार के सदस्यों के नाम जोड़ने के लिए ऑनलाइन आवेदन किए जा सकेंगे।
सरकार द्वारा कराए गए ऑडिट में करीब सात लाख फर्जी और अपात्र लाभार्थियों की पहचान हुई है, जिसके बाद राशन व्यवस्था को अधिक पारदर्शी बनाया जा रहा है। इसके अंतर्गत राशन दुकानों पर ई-वेइंग मशीनें और बायोमेट्रिक सत्यापन अनिवार्य किया गया है। साथ ही राशन कार्ड के लिए वार्षिक आय सीमा बढ़ाकर एक लाख बीस हजार रुपये कर दी गई है।

बृहन्मुंबई नगर निगम-बी.एम.सी. ने मुंबई की बड़ी हाउसिंग सोसायटियों और संस्थानों को रोजाना वैज्ञानिक तरीके से कचरा निपटान के निर्देश दिए हैं। यदि ऐसा नहीं किया गया, तो उन्हें कचरा बी.एम.सी को सौंपने के लिए प्रति टन 812 रुपये शुल्क देना होगा। 20 हजार वर्गमीटर से बड़ी सोसायटियां और रोज 100 किलो से अधिक कचरा पैदा करने वाले संस्थान “बल्क वेस्ट जनरेटर” माने जाएंगे। ऐसे सभी संस्थानों को 15 दिनों के भीतर SBM पोर्टल पर पंजीकरण कराना होगा और कचरे को चार श्रेणियों में अलग करना अनिवार्य रहेगा।

A vacation bench comprising Justices Suraj Govindaraj and K Manmadha Rao said it will review the outcome of the conciliation meeting scheduled for May 25 at the next hearing.
The court is hearing a PIL filed by Bengaluru residents C Vedavathi and H.V. Sreedhara. Earlier, on May 19, the court had stayed the proposed bus strike planned from May 20.

Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka D. K. Shivakumar said the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Mekedatu project will soon be submitted to the Centre, and Bhoomi Puja will be conducted after Central Government approval.
Speaking at Kollegal and Madhyaranga temple, he said land is being identified to compensate for forest areas likely to be submerged. Referring to the Cauvery issue, he said the Supreme Court has ruled that Tamil Nadu cannot object to the Mekedatu project and that the Central Water Commission will decide the matter.

कलकत्ता उच्च न्यायालय ने आरजी कर मेडिकल कॉलेज और अस्पताल में हुए दुष्कर्म-हत्या मामले की जांच के लिए एक विशेष जांच दल-एसआईटी का गठन किया है। तीन सदस्यों की एसआईटी का नेतृत्व केन्द्रीय अन्वेषण ब्यूरो-सीबीआई के पूर्वी जोन के संयुक्त निदेशक करेंगे। न्यायालय ने एसआईटी को 25 जून तक अपनी रिपोर्ट प्रस्तुत करने को कहा है। अदालत का यह फ़ैसला पीड़िता के परिवार की बार-बार जताई गई चिंताओं के बाद आया है।

Telangana government is using digital creators and influencers to promote tourism both globally and locally. Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao made this announcement at a Tourism Creators Meet yesterday.
The Minister said tourism is a major driver of economic growth and employment. He urged influencers to showcase Telangana’s scenic destinations, heritage sites, and cultural art forms to audiences worldwide.
The Minister also noted that travelling doesn’t require high spending. People can reduce expenses and visit local attractions to overcome stress and improve mental health. The government plans to develop unused hotels and tourism lands to enhance visitor experiences and increase revenue. Cleanliness and basic facilities will be ensured at all tourist spots.

International Day for Biological Diversity
From the air we breathe, to the food we eat, and the water we drink — everything depends on biodiversity. But this natural wealth is under pressure due to deforestation, pollution, climate change, and rapid urbanisation.
श्रोताओं, सुबह की ताज़ी हवा, पेड़ों की हरियाली, पक्षियों की चहचहाहट और प्रकृति की खूबसूरती… ये सिर्फ हमारी ज़िंदगी को सुंदर ही नहीं बनाते, बल्कि धरती पर जीवन को संतुलित भी रखते हैं। लेकिन आज तेज़ी से बदलती दुनिया में प्रकृति और जीव-जंतुओं का यह संतुलन लगातार खतरे में पड़ता जा रहा है। इसीलिए हर साल 22 मई को International Day for Biological Diversity यानी अंतरराष्ट्रीय जैव विविधता दिवस मनाया जाता है। संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने इसकी शुरुआत पृथ्वी पर मौजूद जीव-जंतुओं, पेड़-पौधों और प्राकृतिक संसाधनों के संरक्षण के प्रति लोगों को जागरूक करने के उद्देश्य से की थी। जैव विविधता का मतलब है – धरती पर मौजूद सभी प्रकार के जीव, वनस्पतियाँ, सूक्ष्म जीव और पारिस्थितिक तंत्रों की विविधता। सरल शब्दों में कहें, तो प्रकृति में मौजूद हर छोटा-बड़ा जीव इस धरती के संतुलन का एक अहम हिस्सा है।
आज के समय में बढ़ता प्रदूषण, जंगलों की कटाई, जलवायु परिवर्तन और प्राकृतिक संसाधनों का अत्यधिक दोहन जैव विविधता के लिए बड़ा खतरा बन चुके हैं। कई जीव-जंतु और पक्षियों की प्रजातियाँ धीरे-धीरे विलुप्त होती जा रही हैं। इसका असर सिर्फ प्रकृति पर ही नहीं, बल्कि इंसानी जीवन पर भी पड़ रहा है। अगर पेड़ कम होंगे, तो स्वच्छ हवा भी कम होगी… अगर नदियाँ और जंगल सुरक्षित नहीं रहेंगे, तो आने वाली पीढ़ियों के लिए जीवन और मुश्किल हो जाएगा। इसलिए जैव विविधता का संरक्षण सिर्फ पर्यावरण बचाने का मुद्दा नहीं, बल्कि हमारे भविष्य को सुरक्षित रखने की जिम्मेदारी भी है। तो आइए, इस अंतरराष्ट्रीय जैव विविधता दिवस पर हम यह संकल्प लें कि प्रकृति की इस खूबसूरत धरोहर को बचाने में अपना छोटा-सा योगदान ज़रूर देंगे… क्योंकि धरती तभी मुस्कुराएगी, जब प्रकृति सुरक्षित रहेगी।

Raja Ram Mohan Roy (22 May 1772 – 27 September 1833) was an Indian socialreformer and writer who was one of the founders of the Brahmo Sabha in1828, the precursor of the Brahmo Samaj,a socio-religious reform movement in the Indian subcontinent. He has been dubbed the”Father of the Indian Renaissance.” He was given thetitle of Raja by Mughal emperor Akbar II (r. 1806–1837).Hisinfluence was apparent in the fields of politics, public administration, education, and religion. He was known for his efforts to abolish thepractices of sati and child marriage. Roy wrote GaudiyaVyakaran, which was the first complete Bangla grammar written book.
भारतीय समाज में नई चेतना और सुधार की मशाल जलाने वाले महान समाज सुधारक राजा राम मोहन राय का जन्म आज ही के दिन 1772 (बहत्तर) में हुआ था। उन्हें आधुनिक भारत का जनक कहा जाता है। उस समय भारतीय समाज कई कुरीतियों और अंधविश्वासों से घिरा हुआ था, लेकिन राजा राममोहन राय ने बिना डरे समाज में बदलाव की आवाज उठाई। उन्होंने सती प्रथा जैसी अमानवीय कुप्रथा के खिलाफ संघर्ष किया और महिलाओं के अधिकारों की खुलकर पैरवी की। वे मानते थे कि शिक्षा ही समाज को आगे बढ़ाने का सबसे बड़ा माध्यम है। इसी सोच के साथ उन्होंने आधुनिक शिक्षा और वैज्ञानिक दृष्टिकोण को बढ़ावा दिया। संस्कृत, फारसी, अरबी और अंग्रेज़ी जैसी कई भाषाओं के ज्ञाता राजा राममोहन राय का व्यक्तित्व बेहद प्रभावशाली था। उन्होंने ब्रह्म समाज की स्थापना कर धार्मिक और सामाजिक सुधारों का नया आंदोलन शुरू किया। उनकी सोच सिर्फ भारत तक सीमित नहीं थी, बल्कि वे चाहते थे कि भारतीय समाज दुनिया के साथ कदम मिलाकर आगे बढ़े। प्रेस की स्वतंत्रता और अभिव्यक्ति की आज़ादी के समर्थन में भी उन्होंने महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई। आज भी उनका नाम भारतीय समाज में जागरूकता, समानता और आधुनिक सोच के प्रतीक के रूप में लिया जाता है।

Hewas a prolific writer whoproduced over 200 stories and articles, four volumes of poetry, and a number ofworks for the stage.Born in Edinburgh, Doylepublished his earliest stories whilst studying medicine at the University of Edinburgh Medical School, andhe served as a doctor and surgeon on two sea voyages before establishing anunsuccessful medical practice in Portsmouth. Histime at sea inspired the short story “J. Habakuk Jephson’s Statement”(1884), which popularised the mystery of the MaryCeleste.
