The seven day International Film Festival Delhi 2026 will conclude today at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The closing ceremony of the festival was organised yesterday in the presence of Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Delhi Tourism and Culture Minister Kapil Mishra. Speaking at the occasion, Delhi LG highlighted the transformative power of cinema and said that deeply personal stories can resonate across cultures and borders.
Meanwhile, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta said, the film festival is a powerful medium for emerging artists and creatives from the country and the world to showcase their talent. She added that this event is not only a celebration of cinema but also an important effort to engage youth and channel their creative energy.
Our correspondent reports that the festival extended the experience into an interactive cultural exchange, blending cinema with industry networking and public engagement.
“The closing ceremony of the film festival began with the national song Vande Mataram and the national anthem. Renowned Actor Anupam Kher delivered a poetic tribute to cinema, holding the audience in rare silence, while music by Artist Ricky Kej heightened the atmosphere, culminating in a powerful closing performance.
The week-long festival showcased more than 125 films from across the world, marking a major addition to India’s global cinema calendar. Free public screenings, discussions, workshops, and cultural programs were also organized as part of the festival. Talking exclusively to Akashvani News, Filmmaker Anusha Rizvi shared her views on the importance of such film festivals.
During the film festival, an exhibition was also at display showcasing vintage film posters including Sholay and Hollywood classics, to celebrate cinematic nostalgia from various countries. नवी मुंबई नगर निगम-एनएमएमसी ने वित्त वर्ष 2026-27 के लिए करीब 6,704 करोड़ रुपये का बजट पेश किया है, जिसमें करों में वृद्धि का कोई प्रस्ताव नहीं है। अधिकारियों ने बताया कि बजट में करीब 6,704 करोड़ रुपये की प्राप्तियों और करीब 6,689 करोड़ रुपये के व्यय का अनुमान है, वित्त वर्ष के अंत में 15 करोड़ रुपये शेष रहेंगे। वित्त वर्ष के लिए प्रारंभिक शेष करीब 1,265 करोड़ रुपये रहने का अनुमान है।

नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा को बढ़ावा देने और कार्बन उत्सर्जन को कम करने के प्रयासों के अंतर्गत मुंबई विश्वविद्यालय ने अपने कलिना परिसर में 200 किलोवाट की सौर ऊर्जा परियोजना शुरू की है। ये सौर ऊर्जा संयंत्र सी डी देशमुख भवन और फिरोजशाह मेहता भवन सहित छह भवनों में लगाए जायेंगे। इसकी संयुक्त परिचालन क्षमता लगभग 187 किलोवाट है। परिसर में 85 सौर स्ट्रीट लाइट्स भी लगाई गई हैं। विश्वविद्यालय के अनुसार इस सौर प्रणाली से बिजली के खर्च और कार्बन उत्सर्जन में भी उल्लेखनीय कमी आने की उम्मीद है।

His music circulated widely in publication, eventually making him the most celebrated composer in Europe. He was a friend and mentor of Mozart, a teacher of Beethoven, and the elder brother of composer Michael Haydn.

Today is the birth anniversary of Anandibai Gopalrao Joshi, the first Indian female doctor of western medicine along with Kadambini Ganguly.
Anandibai travelled to New York from Kolkata (Calcutta) by ship, chaperoned by two female English missionary acquaintances of the Thorborns. George Robinson, then Viceroy of India had funded her education. She was the first woman from the erstwhile Bombay presidency of British India to study and graduate with a two-year degree in western medicine in the United States.
At the age of just 14, Anandibai gave birth to a boy, but the child lived only for a total of ten days due to lack of medical care. This proved to be a turning point in Anandi’s life and inspired her to become a physician. After Gopalrao tried to enroll her in missionary schools but failed, they moved to Calcutta. There she was able to learn how to read and speak Sanskrit and English.
On 31 March 2018, Google honored her with a Google Doodle to mark her 153rd birth anniversary.
