President Droupadi Murmu will be on a two-day visit to Uttar Pradesh beginning today. During her visit, she will grace various events in Bareilly and Gorakhpur. We have a report:
On the first day of her visit President Droupadi Murmu will attend the 11th convocation ceremony of the Indian Veterinary Research Institute in Bareilly. Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar, who hails from Bareilly, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Bhagirath Choudhary will also attend the event. After attending the event, President Droupadi Murmu will fly for Gorakhpur. In Gorakhpur she will attend key events at three major institutions and cover 129 km across the city by road in two days. President will grace the inaugural convocation of AIIMS Gorakhpur, where she will confer medals on meritorious students. On the second day June 1, the President will inaugurate Uttar Pradesh’s first Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath AYUSH University in the morning. In the afternoon, she will inaugurate the academic block, auditorium, and Panchkarma Centre and lay the foundation stone for the girls’ hostel at Mahayogi Gorakhnath University’s Arogyadham campus in Sonbarsa. Additionally, she will visit the Gorakhnath Temple on both days, where a special darshan and prasad ceremony has also been scheduled. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a notice to 89 institutions across the country, including four IITs, three IIMs, and Aligarh Muslim University, for failing to comply with anti-raggin g regulations. As per the UGC Regulations on Ragging, 2009, every institution affiliated with UGC is required to submit Compliance Undertaking and Anti-Ragging undertakings from students. According to the notice, these institutions have not submitted the mandatory Anti-Ragging undertakings from students and the compliance undertakings from institutions, despite repeated advisories and follow-up calls. Compliance with the UGC Regulation on Ragging, 2009 is mandatory for all Higher Education Institutions. Non-compliance not only breaches UGC guidelines but also endangers student safety, especially amid rising concerns regarding ragging-related distress and hostile campus environments.

पाँच लंबे सालों की की लम्बी प्रतीक्षा के बाद, हिमालय की घाटियों में फिर से भक्ति और प्रार्थना की गूंज सुनाई देने लगी है। आज से कैलाश मानसरोवर यात्रा एक बार फिर शुरू हो रही है। यह सिर्फ एक यात्रा नहीं, बल्कि आस्था का वो रास्ता है जो बादलों के बीच से निकलकर भगवान शिव के पवित्र धाम तक जाता है और अब ये रास्ता फिर से खुल गया है। इस साल यात्रा दो सुंदर और ऊँचे पहाड़ी रास्तों से होकर जाएगी नाथुला (सिक्किम) और लिपुलेख (उत्तराखंड)। ये पहाड़ी दर्रे, जो धुंध और रहस्य में लिपटे रहते हैं, अब एक बार फिर श्रद्धालुओं की मंत्रोच्चारण और कदमों की आहट से गूंजेंगे।विदेश मंत्रालय के अनुसार, ये यात्रा जून, जुलाई और अगस्त के महीनों में होगी जब मौसम थोड़ा मेहरबान होता है और लोग इस पवित्र स्थल तक पहुँच सकते हैं। इस यात्रा के लिए सिक्किम सरकार ने भी काफी तैयारियाँ की हैं। रास्तों की हालत सुधारी गई है, और नई सुरक्षा सुविधाएँ और अक्लेमेटाइजेशन सेंटर्स (ऊँचाई में साँस लेने की आदत डालने वाले केंद्र) बनाए गए हैं ताकि श्रद्धालु न सिर्फ आध्यात्मिक रूप से बल्कि शारीरिक रूप से भी सुरक्षित रहें।

In an interview to a TV channel, Director General of International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi said that Tehran still retains the capacity to resume uranium enrichment within months. He said, while damage from the US aerial strikes was severe, but it fell short of total destruction. His remarks contradict repeated statements by US President Donald Trump, who claimed that America completely and totally obliterated Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. Grossi explained that Iran retains the technological and industrial base required to revive its enrichment activities.

A full-scale emergency mock drill was held on Saturday at the OTA premises on GST Road. The drill simulated an aircraft crash based on the recent Ahmedabad incident. A mock plane was set on fire, and fire services, NDRF teams, and medical staff responded as part of the exercise. Victims were rescued, treated for burn injuries, and rushed away in ambulances. CISF personnel secured the area while a bomb squad checked luggage for explosives. Traffic on GST Road was disrupted for about an hour to allow emergency vehicles to pass. The scenario assumed 50 passengers and five crew members onboard.

Researchers from Madurai Kamaraj University and Liverpool John Moores University in the UK have successfully recreated the faces of two ancient individuals using 3D facial reconstruction technology. The skulls were excavated from Kondagai, a burial site near the Keezhadi archaeological site in Tamil Nadu’s Sivaganga district. Professor Caroline Wilkinson, director of the Face Lab at Liverpool John Moores University, explained that CT scans of the skulls were used to rebuild facial features based on anatomical standards. The upper parts of the faces were reconstructed with greater accuracy, while the lower halves, which were missing the jaws, were estimated using orthodontic measurements.The DNA analysis of the skulls showed traces of ancestry from West Eurasian hunter-gatherers and Austroasiatic populations. However, more genetic studies are needed to confirm the ancestry. The Keezhadi site, located about 12 km southeast of Madurai, dates back to the 6th century BCE and is considered one of the region’s earliest urban settlements.

Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has emphasized the need for closer collaboration between educational institutions and industries to bridge the gap between education and employment. Speaking at the Pankh 2025 conference in Bengaluru, he said India’s youth must be equipped with global skills. The Governor highlighted the importance of aligning academia with industry to ensure students gain practical knowledge and industries get a skilled workforce. He noted that today’s global workforce is creative, digitally skilled, and proficient in areas like AI, data science, and sustainability. To close the skill gap, the Governor suggested internships, project-based learning, live case studies, and regular industry-academia interactions. He praised government programs like Skill India Mission, PMKVY, and Future Skills Centres for promoting skill development and flexible learning opportunities.

दिल्ली के पर्यावरण मंत्री मनजिंदर सिंह सिरसा ने बताया कि दिल्ली सरकार बहुत जल्द ही राजधानी में कृत्रिम वर्षा करने जा रही है, जिसे लगभग 4 महीनें के अंदर पूरा कर दिया जाएगा। श्री सिरसा ने यह जानकारी कल नेहरू पार्क में प्रदूषण को लेकर एक स्थलीय निरीक्षण के बाद दिया। पर्यावरण मंत्री सिरसा ने लोक निर्माण कार्यालय मंत्री प्रवेश साहिब सिंह के साथ मिलकर उन्होंने नेहरू पार्क को एक क्लीन एयर ज़ोन’ बनाने की संभावना का अध्ययन किया। यह पहल दिल्ली का पहला ‘क्लीन एयर ज़ोन’ बनने की दिशा में एक शुरुआती अध्ययन का हिस्सा है।

कांवड़ यात्रा से जुड़ी तैयारियों पर दिल्ली के कला और संस्कृति मंत्री कपिल मिश्रा ने कहा है कि राजधानी में श्रद्धालुओं का भव्य स्वागत किया जाएगा। उन्होंने बताया कि कांवडियों के लिए सरकार ने तीन अहम बदलाव किए हैं। ठेकेदारी प्रथा को समाप्त कर, कांवड़ यात्रा समितियों के खातों में सरकार प्रत्यक्ष लाभ अंतरण के माध्यम से धनराशि सीधे उनके खातों में डालेगी। दूसरी ओर, कांवड़ शिविरों के लिए 12 सौ यूनिट बिजली मुफ्त कर दी गई है और साथ ही बिजली की सिक्योरिटी भी घटाकर 25 प्रतिशत कर दी गई है। इसके अतिरिक्त कांवड़ शिविर लगाने की अनुमति के लिए सिंगल विंडो क्लीयरेंस बनाया गया है।

Today marks the 10th anniversary of World Asteroid Day, a global event dedicated to raising awareness about asteroid threats and space science. Celebrated annually on June 30th, it commemorates the Tunguska eventa powerful asteroid explosion that occurred over Siberia, Russia, on this day in 1908.
The blast flattened around 2,000 square kilometres of forest and released energy equal to 185 Hiroshima bombs.
Due to its remote location, the explosion received little immediate attention. A scientific team only reached the site in 1927, 19 years later, and found clear evidence of the impact.
Asteroid Day raises awareness about asteroid risks and promotes investment in space science. It also supports global efforts to detect, track, and prevent future asteroid threats.

तो पुण्यतिथियों के क्रम में आज सबसे पहला नाम है दादा भाई नौरोजी का जिनको ‘भारतीय राजनीति का पितामह’ कहा जाता है। दादा भाई नौरोजी दिग्गज राजनेता, उद्योगपति, शिक्षाविद और विचारक भी थे। श्री दादाभाई नौरोजी का शैक्षिक पक्ष अत्यन्त उज्ज्वल रहा। 1845 में एल्फिन्स्टन कॉलेज में गणित के प्राध्यापक हुए। यहाँ के एक अंग्रेज़ी प्राध्यापक ने इन्हें ‘भारत की आशा’ की संज्ञा दी। अनेक संगठनों का निर्माण दादाभाई ने किया। 1851 में गुजराती भाषा में ‘रस्त गफ्तार’ साप्ताहिक निकालना प्रारम्भ किया। 1867 में ‘ईस्ट इंडिया एसोसियेशन’ बनाई। अन्यत्र लन्दन के विश्वविद्यालय में गुजराती के प्रोफेसर बने। 1869 में भारत वापस आए। यहाँ पर उनका 30,000 रु की थैली व सम्मान-पत्र से स्वागत हुआ। 1885 में ‘बम्बई विधान परिषद’ के सदस्य बने। 1886 में ‘होलबार्न क्षेत्र’ से पार्लियामेंट के लिए चुनाव लड़ा, लेकिन असफल रहे। 1886 में फिन्सबरी क्षेत्र से पार्लियामेंट के लिए निर्वाचित हुए। ‘पावर्टी एण्ड अनब्रिटिश रूल इन इण्डिया’ पुस्तक लिखी, जो अपने समय की महती कृति थी।

जयंतियों में आज सबसे पहला नाम है – प्रगतिवादी विचारधारा के लेखक और कवि नागार्जुन का जिनका(अंग्रेज़ी: Nagarjuna, जन्म हुआ: 30 जून, 1911; और इन्होंने इस संसार से विदा ली 5 नवंबर, 1998 को। नागार्जुन ने 1945 ई. के आसपास साहित्य सेवा के क्षेत्र में क़दम रखा। शून्यवाद के रूप में नागार्जुन का नाम विशेष उल्लेखनीय है। नागार्जुन का असली नाम ‘वैद्यनाथ मिश्र’ था। हिन्दी साहित्य में उन्होंने ‘नागार्जुन’ तथा मैथिली में ‘यात्री’ उपनाम से रचनाओं का सृजन किया। नागार्जुन ने मैथिली भाषा में ‘यात्री’ नाम से लेखन किया है। नागार्जुन की मुख्य रचनाओं में शामिल हैं -‘रतिनाथ की चाची’ (1948 ई.), ‘बलचनमा’ (1952 ई.), ‘नयी पौध’ (1953 ई.), ‘बाबा बटेसरनाथ’ (1954 ई.), ‘दुखमोचन’ (1957 ई.), ‘वरुण के बेटे’ (1957 ई.)

और आज ही जयंती है हिन्दी सिनेमा के प्रसिद्ध संगीतकार कल्याणजी वीरजी शाह की और आपने इस दुनिया से रुखसत ली – 24 अगस्त, 2000 को। वे भारतीय हिन्दी फ़िल्मों की प्रसिद्ध संगीतकार जोड़ी ‘कल्याणजी आनंदजी’ में से एक थे। कल्याणजी ने हेमंत कुमार के सहायक के तौर पर फ़िल्मी दुनिया में कदम रखा था और वर्ष 1954 में आई फ़िल्म ‘नागिन’ के गीतों के कुछ छंद संगीतबद्ध किए थे।
वैसे शगुन भारतीय फ़िल्मों में इलेक्ट्रॉनिक संगीत की शुरुआत करने का श्रेय कल्याणजी को ही जाता है। वर्ष 1992 में संगीत के क्षेत्र में बहुमूल्य योगदान के लिए उन्हें भारत सरकार ने ‘पद्मश्री’ से सम्मानित किया था।
यही नहीं, वर्ष 1968 में प्रदर्शित फ़िल्म ‘सरस्वती चंद्र’ के लिए कल्याणजी आनंदजी को सर्वश्रेष्ठ संगीतकार के ‘राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार’ के साथ-साथ ‘फ़िल्म फेयर पुरस्कार’ भी दिया गया। इसके अलावा 1974 में प्रदर्शित फ़िल्म ‘कोरा काग़ज़’ के लिए भी कल्याणजी आनंदजी को सर्वश्रेष्ठ संगीतकार का ‘फ़िल्म फेयर पुरस्कार’ मिला। कल्याणजी ने अपने सिने करियर में लगभग 250 फ़िल्मों में संगीत दिया। वर्ष 1992 में संगीत के क्षेत्र में बहुमूल्य योगदान के लिए उन्हें भारत सरकार ने ‘पद्मश्री’ से सम्मानित किया। तो सुन लेते हैं कल्याण जी के फिल्म संगीत निर्देशन की कुछ सदाबहार संगीत रचनाएं।
