India’s retail digital payment is likely to double to 7 trillion dollars by 2030, says a joint study by Kerney and Amazon Pay. India’s digital payments for retail transactions have grown to 3.6 trillion dollars in the financial year 2023-24, compared to 300 billion dollars in the financial year 2017-18, according to the study named ‘How Urban India Pays’. UPI transactions were introduced in India on April 11, 2016. The digital transaction levels have seen a 138 per cent growth in the Unified Payment Interface (UPI) payments levels from the financial year 2018 to 2024. The report also states that India’s e-commerce market was worth 75 billion dollars to 80 billion dollars in 2022, which is expected to grow 21 per cent by 2030.

विदेशी निवेशकों ने जुलाई महीने के पहले दो सप्‍ताह में भारतीय पूंजी बाजार में लगभग 24 हजार करोड रुपये का निवेश किया है। आंकडों के अनुसार 15 हजार 352 करोड रुपये शेयरों में और 8 हजार चार सौ 84 करोड रुपये ऋण बाजारों में लगाए गए। इससे 12 जुलाई तक विदेशी पोर्टफोलियो निवेशकों का कुल निवेश 23 हजार आठ सौ 36 करोड रुपये हो गया।

After 34 years, the doors of ancient temple “Uma Bhagwati” were opened for the devotees in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district yesterday. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai threw open the temple for devotees at Brari Aangan in Shangus area of Anantnag. During the re-opening ceremony, the idol of Goddess Uma, brought from Rajasthan was placed in the sanctum sanctorum. The Union Minister said that the Government’s commitment towards a developed Jammu and Kashmir and its own syncretic culture shall go a long way to develop J&K into a prosperous and peaceful region. Notably, Uma Bhagwati temple at Brari Aangan in south Kashmir is an ancient shrine where devotees used to come in large numbers from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir to pay obeisance to Goddess “Uma Bhagwati”.

राष्ट्रीय परीक्षा एजेंसी-एनटीए ने संयुक्‍त विश्‍वविद्यालय प्रवेश परीक्षा-सीयूइटी-यूजी के एक हजार से अधिक विद्यार्थियों के लिए 19 जुलाई को दोबारा परीक्षा आयोजित करने का फैसला किया है। एनटीए ने बताया है कि विषय कोड का उल्‍लेख करते हुए उन्‍हें ईमेल भेज दिया गया है और जल्‍द ही एडमिट कार्ड जारी कर दिये जाएंगे। प्रवेश परीक्षा मई महीने में तीन सौ उन्‍यासी शहरों में विभिन्‍न केन्‍द्रों पर हुई थी।

The second regional event of the ‘Hamara Samvidhan Hamara Samman’ campaign under the aegis of Designing Innovative solutions for Holistic Access to Justice (DISHA), is scheduled to take place in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. This event commemorates the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Indian Constitution and India becoming a Republic. The campaign aims to promote understanding of the Constitution and raise awareness about legal rights. During the event, the ‘Hamara Samvidhan Hamara Samman’ portal will be launched to encourage citizen participation. This portal will serve as a knowledge repository, offering citizens easy access to information to foster awareness about the Constitution and legal rights.

KP Sharma Oli will be sworn-in as Prime Minister of Nepal today. The swearing-in ceremony will be held at Shital Niwas, the main building of Rashtrapati Bhawan in Kathmandu, at 10:45 AM Indian time. Along with Mr Oli, a group of ministers will also be inducted into the cabinet. He was appointed Prime Minister for the third time yesterday to lead the new coalition government.

In Wimbledon Tennis, Carlos Alcaraz of Spain has clinched the Men’s Singles title defeating Novak Djokovic of Serbia, 6-2, 6-2, 7-6. Alcaraz comfortably won the first two sets 6-2, 6-2 but Djokovic bounced back in the third. However, the Spaniard clinched the third set as well. This was Alcaraz’s second appearance in a Wimbledon final while Djokovic is a seven-time champion of the championship.

And in the Mixed Doubles final, the seventh seed Polish-Taiwan pair of Jan Zieliński and Hsieh Su-Wei claimed their second Grand Slam title of the season. They defeated the Mexican duo Giuliana Olmos and Santiago Gonzalez in straight sets, winning 6-4, 6-2.

CHENNAI METRO

The State health Department will study the prevention and management of diabetes in collaboration with John Hopkins University Baltimore. The University has been actively involved in research on diabetes prevention and treatment. The Minister said that a MOU has been signed for research collaboration. The prevalence of diabetes in Tamilnadu is around 14.4 percent and can reach upto 25 percent in cities according to National Surveys. The State has also entered into an agreement to study the prevention and management of non communicable diseases with the same University. The Minister said all three memorandum of understandings will benefit the State for senior doctors and faculty from the University will support and train doctors in Tamilnadu.

Tamilnadu NCC Directorate won silver medal in all India shooting competition for this year. NCC Directorates across India competed in the annual event held at Tiruchirapalli, conducted by the NCC Directorate of Tamilnadu, Pondicherry and Andaman & Nicobar. The week-long competition was concluded with fanfare. 300 NCC cadets from 17  NCC Directorates participated in the event. The teams won three Gold, three silver and three bronze medals.

The five time world Chess Champion Viswanathan Anand will be the Chief Guest at the convocation of Indian Institute of Science in Bengaluru today. Senapathy Kris Gopalakrishnan, the Chairman of IISc Council will be the Guest of Honour. Total 1136 degrees will be awarded during the ceremony today. Among them are 465 Research degrees, 571 Master’s course degrees and 100 undergraduate degrees will be conferred on the students. Gold medals will be awarded to 57 students for their academic excellence. The premier research oriented institute in Bengaluru offers PhD and Integrated PhD programmes. Several Master’s programmes of MTech, MDes and MMgmt, a four year Bachelor of Science Research Programme and a BTech in Mathematics and Computing.

In Telangana, heavy rain accompanied by gusty winds lashed several parts of the state yesterday. Neelwai of Mancherial District recorded the highest rainfall of over 157 mm while several villages in Jayashankar Bhupalpally District recorded above 100 mm. Normal life has been thrown out of gear in several areas in Hyderabad due to sudden downpour last evening.

Meanwhile, GHMC’s Disaster Response Forces have asked the citizens to dial helplines on 040-21111111 or 9000113667 for any rain-related assistance.

दिल्‍ली से सटे फरीदाबाद में अब सुकन्या समृद्धि योजना के अंतर्गत किसी भी डाकघर या बैंक में लड़कियों का खाता खुलवाया जा सकता है। बेटी बचाओ-बेटी पढ़ाओ अभियान को गति देने के लिए सरकार ने सुकन्या समृद्धि योजना को शुरू किया है। इस योजना के अंतर्गत मात्र 250 रुपए में खाता खोला जा सकता है और एक वर्ष में अधिकतम एक लाख 50 हजार रुपए तक जमा करवाए जा सकते हैं। इस योजना के अंतर्गत खाता खुलवाने के लिए आवेदन पत्र के साथ बेटी का जन्म प्रमाणपत्र, माता या पिता की फोटो पहचान पत्र और निवास प्रमाण पत्र संलग्न करना होगा। खाते को खोलने के लिए अधिकतम आयु सीमा 10 वर्ष है।

निरमा विश्वविद्यालय के प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान टीम ने रोबोट प्रतियोगिता डीडी- रोबोकॉन इंडिया 2024 में जीत दर्ज की है। इस दो दिवसीय कार्यक्रम का आयोजन प्रसार भारती और आईआईटी दिल्ली ने किया। विजेता टीम वियतनाम के क्वांगनिन्ह में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय एशिया-पैसिफिक ब्रॉडकास्टिंग यूनियन रोबोकॉन 2024 में भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व करेगी।

इस कार्यक्रम में 45 से अधिक कॉलेजों, संस्थानों और विश्वविद्यालयों के सात सौ पचास से अधिक छात्रों ने भाग लिया। डीडी- रोबोकॉन इंडिया का उद्देश्य रोबोटिक्स के क्षेत्र में इंजीनियरिंग छात्रों के बीच तकनीकी कौशल विकास और नवाचार को बढ़ावा देना है।

आंध्र प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री चंद्रबाबू नायडू ने महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री श्री एकनाथ शिंदे से मुंबई में उनके आवास पर मुलाकात की और वर्तमान राजनीतिक स्थिति और दोनों राज्यों से संबंधित अन्य मुद्दों पर चर्चा की।

दोनों नेताओं ने आपसी सहयोग के माध्यम से डिजिटल क्षेत्र पर विशेष जोर देने के साथ, दोनों राज्यों से संबंधित विभिन्न बुनियादी ढांचे और अन्य व्यावसायिक विकास के अवसरों की प्रगति पर चर्चा की। इस बैठक में केंद्रीय मंत्री राममोहन नायडू, महाराष्ट्र के लोक निर्माण विभाग के मंत्री दादा भुसे, सांसद डॉ. श्रीकांत शिंदे भी मौजूद थे।

महाराष्ट्र के कोंकण इलाके में पिछले तीन दिनों से भारी बारिश हो रही है, जिससे लोगों का जनजीवन प्रभावित हुआ है। जगबुडी नदी में बाढ़ के कारण कोंकण क्षेत्र के खेड़ तालुका में 177 लोगों को निकाला गया है। जगबुड़ी नदी खतरे के निशान से ऊपर बह रही है. चिपलून में वशिष्ठी नदी, राजापुर में कोडावली और लांजा तालुका में मुचकुंडी नदी खतरे के स्तर से ऊपर बह रही है। मंडनगढ़ तालुका में भारजा नदी में बाढ़ आ गई है, जिससे चिंचघर-मंडिवली पुल पर यातायात प्रभावित हुआ है। भारी बारिश के कारण रत्नागिरी जिले के दीवानखावटी और रायगढ़ जिले में रेल यातायात प्रभावित हुआ है। नासिक में भी बारिश से जनजीवन अस्त-व्यस्त हो गया है।

मुंबई अंतराष्ट्रीय हवाईअड्डे पर एक भारतीय के पास से साढ़े चार किलोग्राम से अधिक गांजा जब्त किया है, जिसकी कीमत एक करोड़ 95 लाख रूपए है। ये व्यक्ति बैंकॉक से छत्तापति शिवाजी अंतर्राष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डे पर पहुंचा था। खाने-पीने की चीजों और खिलौनों के डिब्बों के अंदर गांजा छिपा हुआ पाया गया। आरोपी को गिरफ्तार करके न्यायिक हिरासत में भेज दिया गया है।

कोलकाता-समाचार

पश्चिम बंगाल में वन महोत्सव कल से शुरू हो गया है। यह उत्सव एक सप्ताह तक चलेगा. वृक्षारोपण को बढ़ावा देने के लिए वन विभाग राज्य भर में आम लोगों के बीच निःशुल्क पौधे बांटेगा। कोलकाता के अलीपुर वन्य प्राणी उद्यान में कल चिंपैंजी दिवस मनाया गया। इस अवसर पर दृष्टिबाधित आगंतुकों के लाभ के लिए ब्रेल बैज का अनावरण किया गया। इंटरनेशनल आई फाउंडेशन द्वारा दान किए गए ऐसे 20 बोर्ड चिड़ियाघर में महत्वपूर्ण बाड़ों के सामने लगाए गए हैं।

कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता पश्चिम बंगाल सरकार की माननीय वन राज्य मंत्री श्रीमती बीरबाहा हांसदा ने की और अन्य गणमान्य व्यक्तियों और विशेष रूप से दिव्यांग बच्चों ने इसमें भाग लिया।

युवा कौशल दिवस

युनाइटेड नेशंस के अनुसार दुनियाभर में 120 करोड़ लोग युवा हैं, इनकी उम्र 15-24 साल है यानि दुनिया की आबादी का 16 पर्सेंट बल्कि कुछ रिपोर्ट्स तो इस आकड़े को 25 फीसदी तक बताते हैं। तो ये कहना गलत नहीं होगा कि हमारी दुनिया नौजवान लोगों पर ही टिकी है। जितने मज़बूत हमारे कंधे होंगे, उतनी ही मज़बूत ये दुनिया होगी। और इसलिए युवाओं को नई राह दिखाने और प्रगतिशील बनाने के लिए हर साल 15 जुलाई को कौशल दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है। आज के दिन कई कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन होता है।

दिसंबर 2014 में, संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने युवा लोगों को उनके भविष्य के लिए आवश्यक कौशल पर ध्यान केंद्रित करने के लिए विश्व युवा कौशल दिवस की शुरुआत की। और सरकार भी युवाओं के कौशल पर बहुत ज़ोर दे रही है, देश में जगहों जगहों पर कई कौशल केंद्र खोले गए हैं। सरकार ने कई तरह की योजनाएं चलाई है,  नेशनल स्किल डेवलपमेंट मिशन (NSDM), प्रधानमंत्री कौशल विकास योजना (PMKVY), इंडियन स्किल डेवलपमेंट सर्विस (ISDS), जन शिक्षण संस्थान, SANKALP जैसे कार्यक्रम और योजनाएं शामिल हैं. जहां युवाओं को कई तरह का कौशल प्रशिक्षण दिया जाता है ताकि वो अपना भविष्य उज्जवल बना सकें। क्योंकि शिक्षा से आप किताबी ज्ञान हासिल करते हैं लेकिन अगर आप किसी भी कौशल में माहिर हो जाते हैं, तो आपको जीवन में कम आर्थिक चुनौतियों का सामना करना पड़ेगा।

 

हमने पहले भी ये कहा है कि युवा वैश्विक आबादी का बहुत बड़ा हिस्सा हैं, और अगर ये दुनिया कच्ची मिट्टी है तो युवा कुम्हार हैं, वो इस दुनिया को जैसा चाहे आकार दे सकते हैं, अच्छे कौशल के साथ युवा दुनिया में सामाजिक बदलाव ला सकते हैं और वो ज़्यादा शांतिपूर्ण और टिकाउ दुनिया बना सकते हैं और इस साल विश्व युवा कौशल दिवस 2024 का विषय, भी कुछ इस तरह ही है, इस साल इस दिवस की थीम है- “शांति और विकास के लिए युवा कौशल”। इस साल कौशल विकास और उद्यमिता मंत्रालय (MSDE) देश भर में विभिन्न कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन करेगा तो हमारी श्रोताओं से अपील है कि वो ज़्यादा से ज़्यादा तादाद में इन कार्यक्रमों का हिस्सा बनें, औऱ साथ ही सरकार द्वारा चलाई कई विभिन्न कौशल योजनाओं का भी लाभ लें।

बाल गन्धर्व मूल नाम: ‘नारायण श्रीपाद राजहंस’; मृत्यु- 15 जुलाई, 1967, पुणे) मराठी रंगमंच के महान् नायक और प्रसिद्ध गायक थे। उन्होंने रंगमंच पर अपने अभिनय की शुरुआत शकुंतला का चरित्र निभाकर की थी। नारायण श्रीपाद राजहंस को ‘बाल गन्धर्व’ के नाम से अधिक जाना जाता है। यह नाम उन्हें भारत के प्रसिद्ध स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों में से एक बाल गंगाधर तिलक ने दिया था। बाल गन्धर्व मराठी रंगमंच पर महिला चरित्रों को निभाते थे, क्योंकि उस वक्त महिलाएँ रंगमंच पर किसी भी प्रकार की भूमिका नहीं निभाती थीं। आइए सुनते हैं उनका गाया ये गीत- पुरस्कार- ‘संगीत नाटक अकादमी पुरस्कार’, ‘पद्मभूषण’

Robert’s height was 8 ft 11.1 in while his weight reached 199 kg at his death at age 22. His great size and his continued growth in adulthood were due to hypertrophy of his pituitary gland, which results in an abnormally high level of human growth hormone. बादल सरकार जन्म: 15 जुलाई, अभिनेता, नाटककार, निर्देशक थे। इनका नाम महान नाटककारों मोहन राकेश, विजय तेंडुलकर और गिरीश कर्नाड के साथ लिया जाता है। उनके नाटक भारी संख्या में हिन्दी में और अन्‍य भारतीय भाषाओं में पेश किए गए कम से कम खर्च में नाटक पेश करना और आमजन के लिए नाटक को नि:शुल्‍क उपलब्‍ध कराना उनका लक्ष्‍य बना। सन् 1956 में बादल सरकार ने अपना पहला नाटक ‘सॉल्‍यूशन एक्‍स’ लिखा। मुख्य नाटक- इन्द्रजित (1963), पगला घोड़ा (1967), राम श्याम जोदू (1961), कवि कहानी (1964), बाक़ी इतिहास (1965), तीसरी शताब्दी (1966) आदि।

Today we are remembering Durgabāi Deshmukh on her birth anniversary. She was an Indian freedom fighter, lawyer, social worker and politician. She was a member of the Constituent Assembly of India and of the Planning Commission of India. A public activist for women’s emancipation, she founded the Andhra Mahila Sabha (Andhra Women’s Conference) in 1937. She was also the founder chairperson of the Central Social Welfare Board. Durgabai Deshmukh authored a book called The Stone That Speaketh. Her autobiography Chintaman and I was published one year before her death in 1981. She was the first chairperson of the National Council on Women’s Education, established by the Government of India in 1958. To commemorate her legacy, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam has named its Department of Women Studies as Dr. Durgabai Deshmukh Centre for Women’s Studies. Durgabhai Deshmukh South Campus metro station is also named after her.

ब्रिगेडियर मोहम्मद उस्मान जन्म- 15 जुलाई, 1912, आज़मगढ़; भारतीय सेना के एक उच्च अधिकारी थे, जो भारत और पाकिस्तान के प्रथम युद्ध (1947-48) में शहीद हुए। उस्मान ‘नौशेरा के शेर के’ रूप में ज्यादा जाने जाते हैं। वह भारतीय सेना के सर्वाधिक प्रतिष्ठित और साहसी सैनिकों में से एक थे, जिन्होंने जम्मू में नौशेरा के समीप झांगर में मातृभूमि की रक्षा करते हुए अपने प्राण गंवा दिए थे।

Today is the birthday of Ashoke Sen, an Indian theoretical physicist and distinguished professor at the International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS), Bangalore. A former distinguished professor at the Harish-Chandra Research Institute, Allahabad, He is also an honorary fellow in National Institute of Science Education and Research, India. He is also a Morningstar Visiting professor at MIT and a distinguished professor at the Korea Institute for Advanced Study. His main area of work is string theory. He was among the first recipients of the Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics “for opening the path to the realization that all string theories are different limits of the same underlying theory”.

बानो जहाँगीर कोयाजी मृत्यु: 15 जुलाई, 2004) भारतीय चिकित्सा वैज्ञानिक थीं। इन्होंंने अपने कॅरियर की शुरुआत सन 1943 में ‘स्त्री रोग तथा प्रसूति’ में की।
