The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved a transfer of record 2.86 lakh crore rupees as surplus to the Central Government for the financial year 2025-26, marking one of the highest dividend payouts by the central bank.
The decision was taken during the 623rd meeting of the Central Board of Directors of the RBI, chaired by Governor Sanjay Malhotra in Mumbai yesterday.
The RBI in its release said its gross income increased by 26.42 per cent during Financial Year 2025-26 compared to the previous year, while expenditure before risk provisions rose 27.60 per cent.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red colour warning for severe heat wave conditions over East Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha today. IMD has also issued orange colour warning for heat wave conditions over Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Odisha during the next five days. Similar conditions will prevail over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Madhya Pradesh and West Uttar Pradesh during the same period.
Meanwhile, the weather agency has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim untill tomorrow.

Indian Army officer Major Abhilasha Barak, serving with the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Lebanon, has been selected for the prestigious 2025 United Nations Military Gender Advocate of the Year Award.
Major Barak is currently serving with the Indian Battalion as Commander of the Female Engagement Team in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). She is also the first woman combat helicopter pilot of the Indian Army.
With this recognition, Major Barak becomes the third Indian peacekeeper to receive the honour.

The Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar), the nodal institution for Punjab under the Yuva Sangam initiative, yesterday flagged off a Punjab delegation to Bihar as part of Yuva Sangam Phase VI. This is a flagship programme of the Ministry of Education under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) campaign. Under this Phase VI, Punjab has been paired with Bihar.

The Chennai Port handled 57.9 million metric tonnes (MMT) of cargo, recording major growth across its ‘4C’ categories, including an all-time high container traffic of 1.9 MMT and handling 204,165 automobile units. According to Chennai Port Chairman S. Viswanathan, KPL also handled 49 million metric tonnes of cargo, led by 25.72 MMT of coal and an 18.86% rise in automobile handling to 191,825 units.
The growth was supported by operational improvements, with Kamarajar Port completing Capital Dredging Phase VI at a cost of Rs. 440 crore, enabling it to become ‘Cape Compliant’ with an 18-metre draft. Vessel turnaround time also improved under the ‘One Nation One Port’ initiative, reducing logistics delays and documentation issues in EXIM trade.
Combined operating income of the two ports crossed Rs. 2,400 crore.

State Health Minister K.G. Arun Raj has said that inspections of government hospitals to determine cleanliness rankings will be conducted quarterly. After chairing a review meeting with Joint Directors of Medical Services to assess the functioning of district headquarters hospitals and other government medical institutions across the state, Arun Raj told reporters that the Joint Directors supervise several healthcare institutions, including government medical college hospitals, primary health centres and sub-district hospitals.
The Minister said that the government is focused on improving facilities at government hospitals across the state to meet public demand..

दिल्ली में विशेष गहन पुनरीक्षण-एस.आई.आर के अन्तर्गत बूथ लेवल अधिकारी मतदाता सूचियों के सत्यापन के लिए 30 जून से घर-घर जाकर सर्वेक्षण करेंगे। यह सर्वेक्षण 29 जुलाई तक चलेगा। इस संबंध में दिल्ली के मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी ने सभी प्रमुख राजनीतिक दलों- भारतीय जनता पार्टी, आम आदमी पार्टी, बहुजन समाज पार्टी, मार्क्सवादी भारतीय कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी, कांग्रेस और नेशनल पीपुल्स पार्टी के साथ बैठक की। सभी दलों को एस.आई.आर की प्रक्रिया समझाई गई और प्रत्येक मतदान केंद्र पर बूथ स्तरीय एजेंट नियुक्त करने का अनुरोध किया गया। सभी दलों ने एस.आई.आर-2026 को सफल बनाने के लिए पूर्ण सहयोग का आश्वासन दिया है। साथ ही, मतदाताओं की मदद के लिए जागरूकता वीडियो भी जारी किया गया है।

राष्ट्रीय राजधानी क्षेत्र परिवहन निगम -एनसीआरटीसी ने सराय काले खां नमो भारत स्टेशन पर व्यावसायिक स्थानों की लाइसेंसिंग के लिए निविदा आमंत्रित की है। यह कदम यात्रियों को बेहतर सुविधाएं उपलब्ध कराने और स्टेशन परिसरों को विकसित करने की दिशा में उठाया गया है। एनसीआरटीसी ने बताया है कि निविदा के अंतर्गत स्टेशन के ग्राउंड फ्लोर पर करीब आठ सौ अट्ठारह वर्ग मीटर क्षेत्र में आठ स्थानों को 9 से 15 वर्षों की अवधि के लिए यथावत आधार पर उपलब्ध कराया जाएगा। एनसीआरटीसी के अनुसार इनका उपयोग फूड और बेवरेज आउटलेट्स, कैफे, कन्विनिएंस स्टोर्स और अन्य रिटेल सेवाओं के लिए किया जायेगा। इच्छुक बोली दाता ई-निविदा प्रक्रिया के माध्यम से इसमें भाग ले सकते हैं। बोली जमा करने की अंतिम तिथि अगले महीने की 17 तारीख है।

बुराड़ी के मुखमेलपुर गांव में कल एक ऑक्सीजन पार्क का शिलान्यास किया गया। लगभग तीन एकड़ में बनने वाला यह पार्क केवल हरित क्षेत्र नहीं होगा, बल्कि स्थानीय नागरिकों के लिए स्वास्थ्य, मनोरंजन तथा सामाजिक सहभागिता का आधुनिक केंद्र बनेगा। पार्क के निर्माण के लिए वन विभाग द्वारा एक करोड़ रुपये स्वीकृत किए गए हैं, वहीं, अतिरिक्त एक करोड़ रुपये उनकी विधायक निधि से प्रदान किए जाएंगे।

Karnataka has urged the Centre and NCERT to introduce a dedicated chapter on groundwater conservation and management in school textbooks under the revised NEP 2020 curriculum for 2027-28. Minor Irrigation, Science and Technology Minister N.S. Boseraju said the state has written to the Central Government stressing the need for groundwater literacy at the school level, noting that the existing NCERT Class 10 content mainly focuses on surface water.
The state has proposed the inclusion of topics such as rainwater harvesting, aquifer recharge, groundwater mapping, climate change impacts, advanced monitoring technologies and national water conservation programmes.

Infrastructure Development Minister M.B. Patil on Friday announced that flight services from Bengaluru to Bidar and Kalaburagi will resume from June 1 and June 10 respectively. Star Air will operate flights on the Bengaluru-Bidar and Bengaluru-Kalaburagi sectors, with the Government providing ₹28.47 crore as viability gap funding. Advance booking for both routes has begun. Patil said the services are being revived to strengthen regional air connectivity and support industrial, educational, tourism, agricultural, and commercial growth in the Kalyana Karnataka region.

महाराष्ट्र के खाद्य, नागरिक आपूर्ति और उपभोक्ता संरक्षण मंत्री छगन भुजबल ने कल आश्वासन दिया कि महाराष्ट्र में पेट्रोल और डीजल का पर्याप्त भंडार है और नागरिकों से ईंधन की कमी की अफवाहों पर नही घबराने की अपील की। मीडिया से बातचीत में श्री भुजबल ने कहा कि हाल के दिनों में अंतरराष्ट्रीय ईंधन की कीमतों में उतार-चढ़ाव के कारण राज्य में ईंधन की कमी की गलत सूचना फैली है। हालांकि, उन्होंने स्पष्ट किया कि महाराष्ट्र में पेट्रोल या डीजल की कोई कमी नहीं है। उन्होंने कहा कि कई जगहों से अत्यधिक खरीदारी की खबरें आई हैं, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप मई में सामान्य खपत के स्तर की तुलना में लगभग 20 प्रतिशत अधिक ईंधन की बिक्री हुई है।

The Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, has achieved a major milestone in kidney transplant surgery. The hospital has completed 2,000 kidney transplants, making it the number one institution in South India for this procedure.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy congratulated the NIMS medical team for this outstanding achievement. The Department of Urology at NIMS has performed all these transplants with great skill and dedication.
NIMS now ranks third in the country for kidney transplants.
