Science and Technology Minister Dr Jitendra Singh has emphasised that building a strong green economy is essential for ensuring long-term environmental stability and sustainable growth. Addressing the 10th Sustainable Business Future Summit today in New Delhi, Dr Singh highlighted that the country’s transition towards green infrastructure must be seamless and driven by energy-based innovations.
The Minister said that both the government and the private sector have to work on energy system innovation, which will focus on next-generation energy shortage, along with grid management. He added that emerging technologies in clean energy, sustainable urban planning and smart resource management are playing a crucial role in transforming the nation’s infrastructure while reducing the carbon footprint. Dr Singh noted that the world is witnessing a major paradigm shift in its economic structure, moving beyond conventional manufacturing towards regenerative, recycling, and sustainable processes. The Minister said that India must align itself with global strategies, priorities, and benchmarks to remain competitive and relevant. Dr Singh stated that domestically, the country’s infrastructure strategy integrates climate considerations across sectors. These include renewable energy expansion, green hydrogen development, electrification of transport and sustainable water management.
