The BRICS Women’s Ministerial Meeting has commenced in Kochi. Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annpurna Devi and Secretary Anil Malik, among others, attended the main session organised as part of the meeting. The main session began this morning at Kochi.
Earlier in the morning, Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development Savitri Thakur and Secretary Anil Malik attended the plenary session. The joint statement will be adopted during the main session. Following this, the ministers representing the delegates at the meeting will visit an exhibition organised in connection with the BRICS summit.
Exhibitions highlighting India’s achievements in women-led development across various sectors, such as rural development, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, nutrition, and education, are being held near the venue.
Kerala Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan will also attend the BRICS meeting this evening. The event will conclude tomorrow.
