Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Pralhad Joshi has said that the BRICS countries will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Bengaluru to collaborate in the field of standardisation.
Speaking to the media after addressing the meeting of Heads of BRICS National Standardisation Bodies, Mr Joshi said the MoU will promote information sharing, exchange of best practices, technical collaboration and capacity building among the BRICS member countries.
The fifth BRICS Heads of National Standardisation Bodies meeting is being held in Bengaluru under India’s Chairship. It has brought together representatives from 11 countries, including Brazil, Russia, China, South Africa, Egypt, Indonesia and the UAE. The meeting aims to strengthen cooperation in standardisation among the BRICS member countries.
