BLOs to Visit Homes of Voters Served ‘No Mapping’ and ‘Logical Discrepancy’ Notices: Maha CEO

Maharashtra’s Chief Electoral Office (CEO) in an official statement today said that voters who have received notices for ‘No Mapping’ or ‘Logical Discrepancy’ during the electoral roll revision will not be required to appear personally for hearings under the revised Election Commission of India (ECI) instructions.

According to the statement, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will visit the homes of such voters to collect the required documents, based on which the Electoral Registration Officer or Assistant Electoral Registration Officer will take a decision. Voters can also submit documents or evidence to the concerned BLO through WhatsApp. The CEO further clarified that in cases involving logical discrepancies, only documents related to the discrepancy or the BLO’s verification report will be considered.

Voters who have received notices can also submit documents at special polling-station-wise camps scheduled for October 3, 4, 10 and 11.

Following ECI directions, the CEO has instructed officials to organise special camps and help desks for vulnerable groups, including homeless persons, workers, economically disadvantaged persons, members of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) and orphaned persons, with the objective of ensuring that no eligible voter is excluded from the electoral roll.
