The Chief of the Balochistan Liberation Front, Dr. Allah Nazar Baloch, has criticised Pakistan’s policies in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, saying that growing public resistance in the region reflects demands for fundamental rights, self-determination, and political freedom. According to media reports, Dr. Baloch alleged that Pakistan has increasingly relied on repression to suppress dissent but has failed to curb demands for political and economic rights. He claimed that key decisions affecting the region are taken in Islamabad rather than by locally elected representatives. The Balochistan Liberation Front chief also alleged that the use of force against protesters and political activists highlights the inability of the Pakistani state to address growing calls for greater autonomy and political rights.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that more than 30 people have been killed and around 200 injured in clashes between protesters and security forces in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
