A delegation of BJP women MPs today met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and submitted a memorandum regarding Congress MP Bimol Akoijam in connection with an alleged sexual harassment case at JNU. Speaking to reporters, BJP MP Daggubati Purandeswari said that the internal committee of JNU had found the Congress MP guilty. She added that the delegation had urged the Speaker to refer the matter to the Ethics Committee and examine whether the Congress MP should still continue as a member of the Lok Sabha. Ms Purandeswari also questioned the Congress party’s silence on the matter and demanded that the Congress party should stand in solidarity with the women of the country.
