BJP welcomes Punjab & Haryana HC order of clearing pending DAs of Punjab govt employees

Punjab and Haryana High Court has directed the state government to clear the pending Dearness Allowance (DA) arrears of the state government employees and pensioners within 15 days. At the same time, the court has restrained the Punjab Government from spending on advertisements and other non-essential schemes until the pending dues of employees and pensioners are cleared.

BJP has welcomed the decision of the court. Talking to Akashvani News, BJP Rajya Sabha MP and General Secretary Tarun Chugh said that nearly 8 lakh employees and pensioners had been forced to protest, face police action, and approach the courts just to get their own salaries, DA and pensions. He called the court’s decision a victory for truth and a setback for the Aam Aadmi Party led government in Punjab. Mr Chugh alleged that the Punjab government  had money for publicity and photo campaigns but not for the bank accounts of ordinary pensioners who were making repeated trips to banks.

Punjab BJP President and leaders of Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) have also welcomed the court’s verdict.
