BJP National President Nitin Nabin today held a meeting with the newly-appointed national office-bearers of the BJP at party headquarters in New Delhi. In a social media post, the BJP President said that the BJP team is committed to working with full dedication and devotion for expanding the base of the BJP to realise the resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make India a developed nation.
Mr Nitin Nabin also informed that during the meeting, the BJP also passed a resolution regarding the honour and protection of the historical legacy of Vande Mataram. In the resolution, the Party has condemned and unequivocally opposed the decision taken by the Congress Working Committee on 19th this month to reaffirm its 1937 resolution, restricting the singing of Vande Mataram to its first two stanzas at Congress programmes.
The BJP has reminded the Congress that a resolution of its Working Committee cannot override the constitutional institutions or laws of the Republic of India. The Party also resolved to uphold the honour, dignity, legacy and national status of the complete Vande Mataram as the National Song of India as an immortal symbol of the country’s national consciousness and freedom struggle. He added that the BJP is also resolved to reject every attempt to subordinate the National Song to communal pressure, political appeasement or narrow vote-bank considerations. Mr Nabin said that the party is also resolved to undertake a nationwide campaign through BJP workers to take the history, meaning, national significance and glorious legacy of Vande Mataram to every corner of the country. He said that the BJP regards Vande Mataram as the National Song of India, an expression of reverence for Bharat Mata, a mantra of the freedom struggle and an immortal symbol of India’s national consciousness.
He added that the legacy of Vande Mataram cannot be reduced to the calculations of contemporary vote-bank politics. The party has underlined that the same national song that echoed as the call for freedom in 1947 will resound as the supreme chant for a Developed India.
Following the conclusion of the first meeting of the national office-bearers, a national workshop was held with the State Presidents, Organisation General Secretaries, among others for the Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan.
Later, briefing the media in New Delhi, BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde announced BJP will run a month-long nationwide Seva Sankalp Abhiyaan to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, with a focus on highlighting his commitment to public service and encouraging people, particularly the youth, to undertake acts of service.
The National General Secretary said the campaign will also mark 25 years of Mr Modi taking the oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat on October 7, 2001. He said the party will organise various activities under the campaign, keeping in focus the spirit of service associated with Prime Minister Modi’s personality. Mr. Tawde further said that as part of the campaign, BJP workers will reach more than 14 lakh Anganwadi centres across the country and organize programmes to honour Anganwadi workers for their contribution to the proper nutrition and upbringing of children.
Mr. Tawde added that the party will appeal to people to undertake acts of service and share reels to inspire others. Activities such as cleanliness drives and tree plantation will be encouraged, with special emphasis on engaging the youth. He also announced a 15-day Seva Setu Abhiyan at the block level. Under this initiative, officials from departments related to various government schemes will remain available with the required documents to help people who may have been left out of schemes. The initiative will provide such people an opportunity to access the benefits of various government schemes at the block level.
