The BJP today strongly condemned the Congress party and the INDIA bloc over their letter to Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, alleging that the electoral process is being manipulated.

Briefing media in New Delhi BJP spokesperson Dr Sudhanshu Trivedi said the letter is written by those few political parties who continuously insult the sentiments of the common people. He said that in Keralam, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor had acknowledged that the Special Intensive Revision exercise benefited the Congress as fake voters enlisted during the Left regime were removed from the electoral roll.

Mr Trivedi said, in Karnataka, D K Shivakumar had recently instructed party workers to cooperate with the SIR exercise. He highlighted that the SIR has been fully upheld as rational and legally valid by various courts. Mr Trivedi said, this has been done from time to time in the past by the Government and the Election Commission as well.
