BJP National President Nitin Nabin today began his three-day visit to Punjab with prayers at Sri Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar, seeking peace and prosperity for the country. This is his first visit to the border state after taking charge as the party president.
Accompanied by Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh, Rajya Sabha MP Tarun Chugh and BJP Punjab President Kewal Dhillon, Mr Nabin also paid obeisance at Durgiana Temple and Shri Ram Tirath Temple, besides visiting Jallianwala Bagh.
During his visit, Mr Nabin will participate in religious, social and organisational programmes in Amritsar, Jalandhar and Ludhiana. He is also expected to attend International Yoga Day events in Jalandhar tomorrow. On June 22, he will meet eminent agricultural economist Padma Shri Sardara Singh Johal in Ludhiana and later call on Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria in Chandigarh.
