The BJP has criticised senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram over his statement expressing pride in being a Dimagi Naxal. Briefing the media in New Delhi today, BJP National Spokesperson Dr Sudhanshu Trivedi claimed that the Naxalism that Congress governments failed to eliminate was decisively brought under control under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He also cited former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh’s statement of April 13, 2006, that the Naxal threat was the biggest threat to India’s internal security in its history.
