BJP and Congress have welcomed the announcement of poll schedules for the Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana assembly elections.

Talking to the media in New Delhi, BJP General Secretary Tarun Chugh expressed confidence that his party will receive the people’s blessings in these elections. Mr. Chugh said that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jammu and Kashmir has become free of Article 370 and is moving forward.

On the other hand, Congress leader Pawan Khera said his party is ready for the polls. He told the media in New Delhi that the expectation of the Congress is that it will win in the two states. Mr. Khera said Congress was expecting that dates for assembly polls in Maharashtra and Jharkhand will also be announced along with J&K and Haryana.
