The cultural heritage and spiritual traditions of Bihar are being presented through 65 mementos in the PM Mementos e-Auction this year. The collection features Madhubani and Mithila paintings, Sikki and Manjusha art, traditional crafts, historical personalities and religious landmarks associated with the state.

The Madhubani paintings depict themes including Ram-Sita Vivah, Ram Darbar, Chhath Puja and Das Mahavidya. The collection also includes Mithila Paags decorated with traditional motifs such as fish and lotus flowers. Sikki grass art is represented through several works, including a model of the new Parliament House. A Manjusha painting from Bhagalpur also depicts Bharat Mata against the map of India. It also features mementos depicting freedom fighter Mangal Pandey, Ashoka Stambh, Takhat Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib, Lord Buddha and Mahavir Swami. Several temples and pilgrimage sites of Bihar are also represented, including Punaura Dham, Maa Aranya Devi Temple, Baba Garibnath Temple and Mundeshwari Devi Temple.

The 8th edition of the PM Mementos e-Auction is underway online and will continue till the 2nd of next month. The Ministry of Culture said that the base price of the mementos range between 15 hundred to 1 lakh 20 thousand rupees. It added that the collection offers collectors an opportunity to engage with the state’s living traditions of art, craft, faith and history.
