Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda has said the government is taking necessary steps to ensure high-quality and affordable healthcare facilities for all. Addressing the Bihar and Jharkhand Medical Forum Conference (BJMFCON) in New Delhi today, Mr. Nadda highlighted that the government is committed to implementing a comprehensive health policy that provides holistic, inclusive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative care to all.

The Minister said the two states have taken a significant leap in preventative healthcare in the past few years. Mr. Nadda informed that there are 1.73 lakh high-quality Ayushman Arogya mandirs in the country. He said, out of them, there are around eleven thousand Arogya Mandirs in Bihar where 8.35 crore people visited and 4.36 crore non-communicable disease (NCD) screenings were conducted.

In Jharkhand, there are 3,825 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs with a footfall of 2.33 crore and 2.12 crore NCD screenings. He also highlighted that the infant mortality rates in both states have also decreased since 2020 due to policy implementation. Infant mortality rate in India was 28 per 1000 live births in 2020. In Bihar, it came down from 42 to 27 in the year 2020, and in Jharkhand, it declined from 34 to 25.
