Bhopal’s Raja Bhoj Airport completes CAT-II Instrument Landing System trial

Bhopal’s Raja Bhoj Airport in Madhya Pradesh has successfully completed the official trial of the Category-II (CAT-II) Instrument Landing System. With this new system, aircraft will now be able to land safely even during heavy rain and dense fog.

Earlier, a minimum visibility of 550 metres was required for aircraft to land at the airport. If visibility dropped below this level, flights were delayed or diverted to other cities. With the new CAT-II system, aircraft can now land safely even when visibility is as low as 350 metres. This is expected to reduce flight diversions and help ensure smoother flight operations during bad weather.
