The Ayush services sector is emerging as a significant source of employment for women, with their representation exceeding 50 per cent in several organised segments, including hospitals, educational institutions and wellness establishments.
The Ministry of Ayush said that women account for 43 per cent of the overall Ayush services workforce. The sector directly supports an estimated 1.76 million livelihoods across healthcare, wellness, education and allied services.
Highlighting the employment potential of the sector, Union Minister of State for Ayush, Prataprao Jadhav, said that the growing Ayush services sector is creating meaningful employment opportunities across healthcare, wellness, education and allied services.
The Ministry informed that the Ayush services sector is expected to expand from around 37 billion US dollars in 2024-25 to between 216 and 318 billion US dollars by 2047.
The growing representation of women across organised Ayush establishments, alongside the sector’s expanding economic and employment footprint, highlights its potential to contribute to women’s economic participation, inclusive growth and India’s broader development journey towards Viksit Bharat@2047.
