In Badminton, PV Sindhu has stormed into the women’s singles semi-finals of the Australian Open tournament in Sydney. The third-seeded Indian outclassed Chinese Taipei’s Chen Su Yu 21-6, 21-9 in a one-sided quarter-final clash today. Sindhu will next face top seed Akane Yamaguchi of Japan in the semi-final match. Yamaguchi defeated India’s Tanvi Sharma 21-14, 21-14 in the Quarter-final clash today.
The Indian men’s doubles pair of Hariharan Amsakarunan and M. R. Arjun bowed out in the quarterfinals after retiring from their match while trailing 19-21, 9-16 against Chinese Taipei’s Chen Cheng Kuan and Liu Kuang Heng.
