Assam Rifles, in coordination with state law enforcement agencies, has seized drugs and smuggled areca nuts worth over 14.2 crore rupees in four separate operations across Mizoram over the past three days. Seven persons, including two Myanmar nationals, were arrested. The seizures included 2.18 kilograms of methamphetamine tablets, 468 grams of heroin, and over 40 tonnes of smuggled areca nuts. The recovered contraband and the accused have been handed over to the concerned authorities for further legal action.
