Assam CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma launches Orunodoi 3.0 disbursement

Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today launched the first disbursement of Orunodoi 3.0 for the financial year 2026-27, facilitating the transfer of monthly financial assistance to more than 37 lakh women beneficiaries across the state through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Under this flagship scheme of the Assam Government, eligible women beneficiaries receive a monthly financial assistance of Rs. 1,250 from the State Government.

The State-level programme was held at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati, while similar events were organised simultaneously at over 3,500 locations across the State. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister described Orunodoi as the State Government’s flagship social welfare scheme and a key instrument for strengthening the financial security of women and promoting inclusive socio-economic development across Assam.

Dr. Sarma said that, as a special relief measure, beneficiaries residing in the flood-affected districts of Sivasagar, Charaideo, Golaghat and Jorhat have been provided 2,500 rupees each to support recovery efforts following the recent floods. Highlighting reforms under Orunodoi 3.0, the Chief Minister announced the introduction of an Aadhaar-linked payment system to eliminate duplication and ensure that benefits reach genuine beneficiaries directly through their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.
