The Self Enumeration facility for Census 2027 commenced in Assam from today, allowing citizens to provide their household and individual information online through the dedicated portal, se.census.gov.in. The facility will remain available till August 16 ahead of the Houselisting Operation and Housing Census scheduled to begin in the state on August 17. 

 

The Self Enumeration process has been introduced to make the Census more participatory and citizen-friendly by enabling people to furnish information online from their homes. Citizens can register on the portal, enter household and individual details, and submit the information digitally during the 15-day window.

 

One of the key features of the facility is that it allows households to complete their Census details in advance before the visit of enumerators. After the self-enumeration period ends, trained enumerators will conduct the Houselisting Operation and Housing Census from 17th August to 15th September, during which the submitted information will be verified and confirmed.

 

The online platform includes provisions for registration, secure submission of household data, and generation of a unique reference number for future verification.
