In the Asian markets, South Korea’s Kospi index gained almost 3.6 per cent and Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose around 1.2 per cent.
Among the major European indices, Germany’s DAX was trading 0.4 per cent up, while London’s FTSE 100 dropped 0.3 per cent, when reports last came in. On economic front, United Kingdom’s real gross domestic product (GDP) is estimated to have increased by 0.4 per cent in April to June quarter of this year, down from growth of 0.6 per cent in the first quarter. Meanwhile, GDP grew by 0.3 per cent in June, after registering no growth in the previous month, according to the GDP figures released today by the Office for National Statistics.
