Most Asian stock market indices closed in positive zone today. Japan’s Nikkei 225 index surged two and a half per cent, to close at a record high of 68 thousand 402. Singapore’s Strait Times index rose 0.8 per cent, and China’s Shanghai Composite Index gained over 0.2 per cent.
Conversely, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index declined more than one and a half per cent. Meanwhile, South Korea’s market was closed for a holiday. Major European indices were trading with losses today. Germany’s DAX lost 1.1 per cent, London’s FTSE 100 was trading over 0.2 per cent down, and France CAC 40 slipped 0.2 per cent, when reports last came in.
