Most Asian markets close in red; European indices show mixed trends

Most Asian stock markets extended losses today amid profit booking in technology stocks and investor caution over West Asia conflict, as US and Iran peace talks remained in limbo. South Korea’s Kospi index plunged more than 5.5 per cent, Japan’s Nikkei 225 index dropped 1.3 per cent, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index declined over 1.1 per cent, China’s Shanghai Composite Index fell more than 0.7 per cent, and Singapore’s Strait Times index slipped 0.35 per cent.
Major European indices were trading mixed today. France CAC 40 gained half a per cent, London’s FTSE 100 added 0.4 per cent, while Germany’s DAX was trading marginally down, when reports last came in.
