Indian shuttler Ashmita Chaliha has reached the women’s singles final of the Korea Masters Super 300 badminton tournament in Asan, South Korea. Ashmita defeated fellow Indian Rakshitha Ramraj 21-13, 16-21, 21-13 in the semifinal today.
The victory comes after Ashmita produced the biggest upset of the tournament in the quarterfinals, defeating top seed and world number 22 Hina Akechi of Japan in a three-game thriller.
Ashmita will face China’s Q Han in the women’s singles final tomorrow. Han reached the final after defeating South Korea’s G Kim 22-20, 18-21, 21-14 in the other semifinal.
