Arrested Arms Supplier in Salman Khan Residence Firing Case Dies by Suicide in Police Custody

One of the two arms suppliers, arrested in connection with the firing incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence, died by suicide in police custody on Wednesday. According to a police official, the accused, Anuj Thapan attempted suicide today around 11 am in the bathroom of the police lock-up on the first floor. He was rushed to GT Hospital by the police, where he was declared dead. Thapan was arrested on the 26th of April in Punjab by a team from the Mumbai police crime branch. He was allegedly involved in procuring firearms for two other individuals accused of firing five rounds outside Khan’s residence on the 14th of April. Alongside Thapan, Mumbai Police have arrested three others, including Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta, who were on the motorbike used in the shooting. The third suspect, Sonu Bishnoi, who is reportedly suffering from an ailment, is currently in judicial custody.
