Newly appointed Chief of Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth has stressed the need to advance the modernisation of the Army to tackle the challenges of the evolving security environment. Addressing the media today after assuming charge as the 31st Chief of Army Staff, General Seth highlighted that the Indian Army’s objective is to build a technology-enabled, future-ready Army that is empowered in every respect and capable of operating across multiple domains.
He said that the Army will maintain constant vigilance regarding the borders and emerging threats and uphold a high level of operational readiness to effectively counter any challenge to national security. General Seth said that his focus will be on both doctrinal and technological solutions. He added that innovation will be an integral part of the Army’s mindset, operational methods, and capability development.
