Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Dhiraj Seth apprised Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria of the latest developments concerning internal security and projects being undertaken in the border areas during his meeting with the Governor at Punjab Lok Bhavan in Chandigarh today.
General Seth reassured the Governor of the Indian Army’s resolve and commitment to nation-building and expressed his gratitude to the State Government for its policies promoting the welfare of veterans.
General Seth had also met the Punjab Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann, yesterday and discussed issues related to civil-military synergy and regional security.
Our Correspondent reports that this was the first meeting of the Army Chief with the Governor and the Chief Minister after assuming command of the Indian Army.
Army sources said that the meetings further strengthened civil-military synergy in this border state to deal with any eventuality effectively during natural disasters and external threats.
