Andhra Pradesh Govt launches Yogandhra 2026 campaign ahead of International Yoga Day

The Andhra Pradesh government today launched Yogandhra 2026, a statewide campaign aimed at promoting yoga and healthy living ahead of International Yoga Day.

The 14-day programme will culminate on June 21 with a grand International Yoga Day celebration in Amaravati, where thousands of participants are expected to perform yoga together. The campaign seeks to encourage widespread public participation and raise awareness about the benefits of yoga.

On the first day of the campaign, yoga sessions and awareness programmes were organised at several prominent locations across the state, including Lepakshi in Sri Sathya Sai district, Manginapudi Beach in Krishna district, Sri Venkateswara Zoological Park in Tirupati, and Vontimitta in YSR Kadapa district. Students, government employees, volunteers, and members of the public actively participated.

The government has set a target of reaching one crore people through yoga activities during the campaign. Registrations began today through village and ward secretariats, while sessions will be conducted at district, mandal, and village levels in the coming days.

Officials said thousands of trained yoga instructors and volunteers have been deployed to guide participants and organise programmes across the state. Special awareness drives, demonstrations, and community events are also planned.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has called for making yoga a part of daily life and turning it into a people’s movement for physical and mental well-being.
