The Andhra Pradesh government has launched a week-long campaign titled “Uttarandhra Kalalaku Rekkalu” ahead of the inauguration of the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 1.
Director of Information and Public Relations K.S. Viswanathan said the campaign, being organised from July 25 to August 1, will cover six north coastal districts to highlight the airport’s role in promoting regional development, tourism and industrial growth.
Digital countdown screens have been installed at key locations, while awareness programmes, cultural events, student competitions, marathons and exhibitions showcasing tribal products will be organised as part of the celebrations.
Mr Viswanathan said district administrations have been directed to coordinate the events under a day-wise schedule. He appealed to people across North Andhra to actively participate in the celebrations and make the inauguration a memorable occasion.
