Andhra Pradesh CM seeks IIT alumni support for technology and education

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has sought the cooperation of IIT alumni and professionals in advancing technology and education initiatives in the State.
 
Addressing the media after the Pan-IIT Andhra Pradesh Summit 2026 in Vijayawada, he said the proposed Pan-IIT World Council in Amaravati would facilitate cooperation between IIT alumni, educational institutions and industry.
 
Mr. Naidu said the Pan-IIT Council would provide recommendations for the State’s Deep Tech Policy, covering areas including artificial intelligence, quantum computing, semiconductors, space and defence, healthcare and agritech.
 
He said Andhra Pradesh had set a target of contributing 50 lakh AI-skilled professionals towards the national target of one crore.
 
The Pan-IIT Amaravati Declaration 2026 was released during the summit. It proposes a permanent Pan-IIT Amaravati Council, a 500-crore-rupee venture fund for Deep Tech startups, 10 Industry Chairs in educational institutions and a network of 100 global IIT mentors.
 
The Chief Minister said the initiatives would support research, startups and industry-academia collaboration in the State.
