Andhra Pradesh CM N. Chandrababu Naidu highlights role of Yoga and spirituality in healthy living

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said spirituality and yoga play a vital role in maintaining balance and leading a stress-free life and stressed the need to preserve India’s cultural values for future generations.
 
Participating in a special Yogandhra programme led by yoga guru Baba Ramdev at the Undavalli Caves in Amaravati today, the Chief Minister said technology and spirituality should go hand in hand. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving global recognition to yoga through International Yoga Day and said nearly 190 countries now observe the event.
 
Mr. Naidu said the state government is promoting yoga across Andhra Pradesh through Yogandhra programmes and will integrate yoga and pranayama into the Sanjeevani public health initiative, with a focus on disease prevention and healthy living.
 
The Chief Minister also said Amaravati is being developed as a pollution-free, net-zero and highly liveable capital city, with equal emphasis on development, spirituality and tourism. Addressing the gathering, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev praised Andhra Pradesh Government’s efforts to promote yoga and natural farming.
