Alliance Air makes significant strides in improving connectivity between India and Sri Lanka

Alliance Air, a subsidiary of Air India, is making significant strides in improving connectivity between India and Sri Lanka. After successfully restarting flights between Jaffna's Palaly Airport and Chennai in December 2022, Alliance Air will launch daily flights between Jaffna International Airport and Chennai from the 16th of July, becoming the first airline to do so.

Till June, the airline has handled over 12,000 passengers with over a hundred flights between the two cities. Previously operating four flights per week, Alliance Air's decision to increase the frequency of daily flights reflects the growing demand for travel between the two destinations. Additionally, the airline has plans to introduce another domestic air connection between Jaffna and Ratmalana by adding it to their radar soon.
