Director General, Akashvani, Rajeev Kumar Jain, today chaired a review meeting of Regional Channel Managers of the North Zone at Akashvani Srinagar. The meeting is being held to discuss sales and content of Akashvani Regional Channels in the North Zone, besides reviewing their overall performance and functioning.

Speaking on the occasion, DG Akashvani Rajeev Jain urged the RCMs to make full use of the powers and flexibility provided under the decentralised framework introduced last year. The DG said the meeting was aimed at understanding the issues faced by RCMs, seeking their feedback and finding solutions to their requirements of RCMs across the country. Mr Jain said the performance of RCMs is reviewed regularly and stressed that both public service and commercial responsibilities have to be taken together. He said the deliberations are important for further strengthening the content and sales performance of Akashvani stations across the country.
