The 80th Independence Day celebrations were also held at the premises of the headquarters of Akashvani in New Delhi. On the occasion, Director General of Akashvani, Rajiv Kumar Jain hoisted the national flag and extended his greetings and best wishes. He said that the day commemorates the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country. He said that everyone should make an effort to fulfil the dream of all those who dreamt of making the country prosperous, developed and, self-reliant.
