Mizoram Information and Public Relations Minister Pu B. Lalchhanzova yesterday said Akashvani Aizawl has played a significant role in strengthening Mizo identity and has served as an important platform for fostering unity among Zo communities.
In a message marking the Diamond Jubilee of Akashvani Aizawl , the Minister said the station has remained a trusted source of information for the people of Mizoram since its establishment in 1966. He said Akashvani Aizawl has made a substantial contribution to the preservation and promotion of Mizo language, culture, customs and traditions, describing its dedicated service to society over the past six decades as commendable.
Pu Lalchhanzova also lauded the station’s staff for consistently producing quality programmes and credible news content that have kept pace with changing times. He said Akashvani Aizawl broadcasts have benefited not only Mizoram but also neighboring states and have served as a vital medium for strengthening bonds among Zo communities.
The Minister further said Akashvani Aizawl has worked in close coordination with the Mizoram Government in disseminating information and public announcements. He added that the station has been one of the Government’s most effective platforms for communicating its policies, welfare schemes and developmental initiatives to the people.
